    Bring back the Kilo!

The omnium is much better off now as a one bike, one day, all bunch race competition. The kilo is still a stand alone full medal event at the Worlds, European Championships, Commonwealth Games etc. etc. ...and big congrats to Hoogland on an impressive ride!

    Track World Champs

A couple of years away but starting 2025: -women will ride 4000m IP -TT for women will increase from 500m to one kilometer -women's omnium tempo race will increase to 10 km. -scratch race for men will be reduced from 15 km. to 10 km. ... personally I was hoping it was going to be increased to...

    Track World Champs

Fabian Puerta was very successful in the keirin at the Worlds (1 gold and two silvers) and in the World Cup (overall titles in kilo, the sprint and the keirin) from 2012 to 2018.

    Track World Champs

No, no, no. Omnium is much better now. One bike, one day. Some people (not saying you) who dislike current format have not experienced Track Leagues, which are far more entertaining to watch and/or ride than waiting around hours for kilo and pursuit and flying lap to be run off (and I fancied...

    UCI Track Champions' League

Lance Armstrong didn't ride the track, so most of those that use this site don't rate track cycling except for an occasional mention of Major Taylor. Any attempt at serious discussions are usually hijacked as was the case recently with the pursuit at the Worlds and previously with the omnium...

Hot racing coming up in Australia

Regarding Mt. Lofty: the late AC/DC frontman Bon Scott was in a band of bohemians called the Mt. Lofty Rangers with Peter Head. Head's wife is a skilled seamstress who has made award winning costumes for stars of the screen and stage including the late rock and roll legend Chrissy Amphlett of...

    Hour Record Official Discussion Thread

To anyone saying Ganna isn't in shape, he just rode a four-zero IP, and Biggles did a 4.05. So Danno is not exactly chopped liver, considering he and Hayter et al also nipped Ganna and his Italian mates for the TP Rainbows yesterday. Also, both Fabian and Tony did "secret" testing with the aim...

Women's Basketball World Cup on in Sydney as well, but Australia is one of the sporting capitals of the world so no real surprise there are so many elite sporting events taking place simultaneously.

Music! What are you listening to now?

It was the third of June, another sleepy, dusty Delta day.

Lovely to see the young man embracing Marginal Gains so successfully.

    Dean Woods Rip

Really loved the Aussies winning the team pursuit against the USA at the '84 Olympics when Dean was still a junior. Very sad for his family, friends and fans ... much too young. All round bad week for sport in Australia with cricket legend Shane Warne also passing in his early 50's.

    Tom 'Pidders' Pidcock

Thankfully common sense prevailed, even though he may have contravened UCI Rule 1.3.008: The rider shall normally assume a sitting position on the the bicycle. This position requires that the only points of support are the following: the feet on the pedals, the hands on the handlebars and the...
