Hirschi has 4 top 10s with a podium, he would've won here in 2020 without Alaphilippe's deviation, he was 2nd in Amstel last week, of course he should be here.
Yes, but on another team. Ok, give him the benefit of doubt and maybe he does something useful today still since he was good in Amstel.

But he had 3 races this year in kind of a domestique role - Strade and MSR for Pogacar and RdV for Wellens/Politt - 68th, 112th, DNF. And that without being seen doing any significant work. MSR especially was shameful.

How is LBL a "monument" but Strade Bianche is not? Ridiculous.
Being a monument is basically decided by how old they are, and by the importance of the race. Lbl was first organised in 1891 or so, strade bianche in 2007. That´s why it isn´t a monument. Just as Milano-Torino (first organised in 1876) isn´t, because it´s not one of the most important races.

If they turn right at the top of Redoute (like last year), that descent was sketchy when wet. A lot off little bumps, some gravel from the sides washed on the road. Not the best asphalt. Especially the left turn. (Pidcock won some time back on Remco there).

But first this descent to Redoute.
