Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

Pogi is so much superior from all the rest though, that it's fair to say if Vingo didn't exist, he would have won all the TdF easily. Which would have built his confidence up, which I'm pretty sure would have translated today to way more risk taking. Pogi doesn't want to save energy for the...

UAE learned from Jumbo. Throw it down on 2 key stages, that's all it matters.

Jonas Vingegaard Rasmussen, the new alpha mutant

I'm a huge Pogi fan but I have to say, While Vingo's real shape will probably stay a question mark until the start of the TdF, Pogi's real shape will most likely also stay a question mark until the TdF because of the Giro. I only hope both will stay injury free. Everything else is speculation...

Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

Pogi is in great position, but still today might be a sign that it won't be a walk in the park, and just rest his way to the TdF with a Giro win. A GT is not a one day or one week race ! Always keep that in mind.

Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

I understand the sentiment, but I doubt Pogi will do a long range attack in a flat course on the TdF, they'll all going to be at his pursuit, with all the sprinters who don't care if they lose 1 hour in the mountains and he will lose extremely precious energy that he will need in the mountains...

Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

Sorry but no. Pogacar 2023 season was definitely better than Mvdp season. Finishing 2nd at the TdF after an injury a few weeks before, and being the only guy competitive with Vingegaard while having won Flanders, Amstel Gold race, and Fleche. WTH?! And then finishing 3rd at the WC. Concerning...

Teams & Riders Jonas Vingegaard: The Wizard of Visma

As for now Pogi and Vingo are the only ones able to battle each other and give something interesting. If one of them is in peak shape and other one isn't able to do anything, chances are it's going to be a boring TdF.

Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

I think it's never a good idea to speculate on someone chance based on injuries events so early. First of all, let's hope Vingo isn't life threatening injured first, or career ending injured second. Second, Pogi can also get injured, be it in training, or in the Giro... Third, and let's hope...

Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

If they would have gone faster, Vingo would have been alone in the Tourmalet sooner, lose more energy, and so probably lose way more than 25 secs on MB.

Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

Hauptman is totally right. So much can happen in 21 stages that makes it foolish to think about planning to conserve energy before even starting the race. IMO we can dream all we want, but the main reason Pogi is doing the Giro is because the team wants a GT wins this year. Of course they'll...

Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

Idk 2020 Tour de France beg to differ, his best performance was literally the last stage. I think he just struggle (relatively) at altitude and under heat. But maybe he made some change in training/coach so he's less vulnerable ? Let see this summer...

Teams & Riders The official Egan Bernal is the new Egan Bernal thread

I think he should aim to find its best shape for the Vuelta. If he can maintain his progression with some luck he has a chance to podium.

Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

I still maintain that a GT is a different beast, even if he gets a decent lead early on and then decides to step back from the attacks. The battle for 2nd and 3rd place will make it so that there will be attacks that the UAE team won't be able to prevent all the time, and so keeping wheels will...

Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

The Giro is still a GT and it takes a lot of time to recover. Even Vingegaard who is the king of recovery performed significantly worse in the Vuelta than in the Tour. Now of course if Pogi comes undercooked for the Giro, would it be different... well yes it would but still 3 weeks of racing...

The legend hit again. I just hope he doesn't get injured and stays healthy for the Giro/TdF.

Teams & Riders Everybody needs a little bit of Roglstomp in their lives

Roglic just showed that he is true force of the universe on par with Vingnegaard and Pogacar, and can match any of them and beat them.
