    Mental or random cycling statistics

Previous time Amstel Gold Race and Flèche were won by different riders from the same country was 1989. Eric van Lancker and Claude Criquielion were the winners back then. Obviously several doubles from the same rider (Rebellin, di Luca, Gilbert, Pogacar)

A coffee and a small Danish.

We race five monuments as a stage race. Let's have it every other day, and taking account the transfers the most logical order would be: Il Lombardia Milano - San Remo Paris - Roubaix Ronde van Vlaanderen Liege - Bastogne - Liege Who would win? MvdP is probably a pre-race favourite, but...

Teams & Riders Mark Cavendish Discussion Thread

Those stages where the climbing starts only midway through the stage have especially lenient limits. Like this one in 2022 where no sprinter should have any troubles from start to Arreau.

Teams & Riders Chris Froome Discussion Thread.

2004 Tour de France saw US Postal winning TTT. Benjamin Noval got dropped and was last one who got credited with a time, however there was Eddy Seigneur who finished outside the time limit.

Teams & Riders Everybody needs a little bit of Roglstomp in their lives

In the 21st century, Karpets and Spilak are those who come to my mind who can say TdS win as their greatest achievement. Skjelmose too, but his career is in the early stages so a lot can still happen.

I would not rule out any stage. But he's not getting it done when the best GC riders battle it out, he can win in a breakaway.

    Doping in XC skiing

Åre held alpine skiing WCs in 2019. Nordic skiing had their event in Seefeld, Austria.

When did you FIRST start following the Tour de France?

First memories are from Hautacam stage in 2000. But 2001 was the first one I followed more closer, almost every stage.

Teams & Riders Chris Froome Discussion Thread.

If I was in a charge for criterium I wouldn't want any fixes. I would invite each WT and PT to sent two riders. No more, no less. This season, there are 36 teams, so 72 riders. And then go. Whether to go for a sprinter or puncheur, your choice.

2023 was the first season ever when two different riders won multiple monuments.

Tour de France Tour de France 2024 route rumours and announcements

Not Tour, but there was a Vuelta in 2012 where Madrid was the southernmost place on the route.

Tour de France Tour de France 2024 route rumours and announcements

I would say Le Grand Bornard stage in 2013 is previous 200-km mountain stage which has barely any flat. A lot of other long mountain stages have almost half a stage flat before mountain boogie starts.

I would say almost all of us in the forum aren't going to see that.

    Scheduling of World Championships

Next year Olympics have cycling on every day of the competition and no two disciplines on the same day. Tokyo had a similar schedule while Rio had two off days (track and BMX events took one day less to complete). Obviously, current worlds have more competitions so it's tougher to add all...

    General News Thread

I didn't check through the races a lot but by that logic was 2011 the best WCRR ever? 82 riders finished with the same time as the winner.

    Thread planning

I have been thinking it earlier, but today's news about Bahamontes brought it up again. There could be a topic dedicated for former riders who have passed away.

    What happened to that initiative?

Was there an initiative that only MPCC members get invitation to GTs on the second level?

    Bonus Seconds in Grand Tours

I think 10-6-4 was commonplace in shorter stage races at the same time when GTs had 20-12-8.

    Bonus Seconds in Grand Tours

I think bonus seconds should always stay as they were originally given. For the poll, I think the most sensible is the current allocation at the finish and 3-2-1 in intermediate sprint.
