Giro d'Italia Giro d’Italia 2024, Stage 6, Torre del Lago Puccini (Viareggio) – Rapolano Terme, 180km

Who would know better than Plapp how he was feeling and what the right strategy was? Forumites? <grumpy old man comments> There are so many motivations and goals for riders in the group. In addition to how he was feeling, what he knows about the others' capabilities, there are group dynamics...

Interesting, as I would generally put her in the category of "trying waaaaay to hard". She makes that pre/post show unwatchable for me. Which is unfortunate.

The much needed UCI loller thread

There's always room for judgement. Blind adherence to rules is...not really an effective way to manage human endeavors. Threatening to kick out the race leader for wearing the wrong color shorts is idiotic. There are a dozen other ways they could have handled it and still implemented the rules...

Who is the best descender (modern time) ?

Yes, good addition. It's what allows him to put himself in places others probably don't even see.

Who is the best descender (modern time) ?

I agree, I can't put myself in a place where I can assess the risks someone is taking. At the same time, as a bike rider, I feel like taking risks is an integral part of being a good descender. But I can only really know the risks I take, not others. I felt like Savoldelli was a great...

Who is the best descender (modern time) ?

Agreed. No question he was a fantastic bike handler across all conditions, and better in that regard than any of his GT competitors, but not an elite descender. Very good, just not elite. IMO. Not a criticism. Loved to watch that guy ride on any terrain.

    Giro d'Italia Giro d‘Italia 2024, Stage 4 Acqui Terme-Andora, 190 km

Stages like the last couple just continue to remind me how much more entertaining the sport has been of late. So much attacking, so little conservative, boring riding dominated by a single team. Such an improvement over the stranglehold era of Postal/Sky. Yes, there are a few riders who are so...

Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

This is the kind of nonsense that makes this sport too often seem ultra bush-league. But then it's the UCI...

Who is the best descender (modern time) ?

@TrekCyclist when creating a poll, the joke entries like "Vino", "Pizza"...or in this case "Chris Froome"...those are generally put in the last position. You're welcome!
