He said he already made the decision weeks ago, so presumably already before Rabobank folded. I don't think they wanted him back.

Always liked him as a rider, too bad to see him go! One must admit that he showed little to nothing these past two years but he also had bad luck with injury and illness ... in the current system, that is deadly!

Posthuma was not exactly a motivated pro anyway. After first few years you could see him fade away
