Livestrong Foundation drops Lance's name

"Livestrong" still resembles Armstrong's name though.

First he resigns a chairman but remains on the board. Shortly after he resigns from the board, and shortly after they drop his name. I knew this would be quick. A Nike T-shirt is still a Nike T-shirt, but a charity that has no trust has nothing to offer.

A really big bag, with extra butter!

This is going to be one big mess.

future intention to redact to marginal gains = rounding error. That will be the soundbite. But folks need to appreciate the good oil first, or good dope. Then esoteric soundbites, can take traction.

I really really hope so.

The idea of celebrities and their own foundations is not a good one. It is ego massaging at best and tax evasion and fraud at worst never mind giving false hope to people.

Funny, as just a few weeks ago weren't they bragging that donations were way up? uh huh....

Odd how using a cancer charity for a PR battering ram to defend some clown's cycling record might undermine credibility in a big way...

They can drop him from whatever, but they are still entirely associated with him and it will prove impossible to survive is my bet...livestrong IS armstrong and they made sure to make it that way...what's next?...they drop the word "strong" from the title and just call it "live"? In short, doomed...

Couldn't happen soon enough in my book and then perhaps some of those monies given in good faith can return to actually fighting cancer rather than making folks "aware" of it's existence...

Foundation spokesperson Mclane uses some careful language about LA's ties to the Foundation. I expect they still have him under contract. He's severed ties to the Board only, in the statements so far.
