Petraeus is probably lying under oath. That must be it.
As I said, the Benghazi Truthers will be really angry when Petraeus does not confirm the vast left wing conspiracy. They will turn on him.

Meanwhile McCain and Rand Paul skipped the intelligence briefing about Benghazi yesterday. I guess Glenn Beck and Hannity are much better sources of information than the country's zillion dollar anti-terrorism intelligence gathering suckerfish of a government program.

Oh how the Left is conflicted today....

Hostess crashes and burns. That's good, right? I mean, Twinkies and Ding-Dongs are just junk food leading to obesity in adults and children, am I right?

Oh wait... that rocket scientist, Dickie Trumka, says, “What’s happening with Hostess Brands is a microcosm of what’s wrong with America, as Bain-style Wall Street vultures make themselves rich by making America poor,” Trumka said in a public statement. “Crony capitalism and consistently poor management drove Hostess into the ground, but its workers are paying the price.”

The workers are on strike and had repeatedly been warned if they did not return to work Hostess would shut down, but let's not let too many facts get in the way of Dickie's rant.

Dickie went on to say, “These workers, who consistently make great products Americans love and have offered multiple concessions, want their company to succeed,” Trumka said in the statement. “They have bravely taken a stand against the corporate race-to-the-bottom. And now they and their communities are suffering the tragedy of a needless layoff. This is wrong. It has to stop. It’s wrecking America.”

I think he made that statement with a bull-horn on the picket line.

Oh, and he blamed Bain Capital. Maybe someone should tell this dumb *** Obama won.

I'm going to bet that Obama loses some IQ every time he talks to this doosh.

Hey whatever happened to Solyndra anyway? I thought that was the scandal that was going to bring Obama down. Keep plugging away, maybe someday you'll hit paydirt.
You're right. King could be lying.

Solyndra went BK. Took a govt backed 500 million with them. Turns out not to have been a very good bet, which sometimes happens when the know it all's in the govt try and pick winners and losers. You can read all about it on Wiki.

Heard McCain got pretty testy with a CNN reporter today.

I can't figure out why, but nobody in DC seems to be in a very good mood the last few days.

Funny how pharmaceutical companies have not been able to isolate the exact compound in weed that is responsible for a specific medical effect and put it in a pill that does cause the taker to get high.
I agree.

Maybe they just want to get high? Hippy lettuce has a specific effect. But if they want to get high then who am I to worry with it. Let them puff puff it all away.

I don't care if people get the right to fire it up in their house, but that does not mean I cannot make fun of them. The least they could do is be honest instead spounting BS about using hemp for ropes or smoking weed for dubious medical purposes.

Really? This again? You know that's crap and yet you keep repeating it. I'm starting to understand why you're so susceptible to the echo chamber.

Anyway, how much have those 33 votes on Obamacare cost the US taxpayer? Oh right. $50 million. On useless and pointless symbolic votes. Money well spent, eh? I'm waiting for your outrage. Still waiting.

But then, Rs do have more pressing concerns.

President Obama is using a Cold War-era mind-control technique known as "Delphi" to coerce Americans into accepting his plan for a United Nations-run communist dictatorship in which suburbanites will be forcibly relocated to cities. That's according to a four-hour briefing delivered to Republican state senators at the Georgia state Capitol last month.
At least the Dems are trying not to be completely insane. The Rs seem to revel in it.

Perhaps Hostess' hedge-fund CEO shouldn't have been given a 300% raise while the company was asking workers to accept pay cuts? Maybe, just maybe, they shouldn't have given top execs 80% raises and then-CEO Driscoll a $3 million compensation package when Hostess was in bankruptcy last year? Just a thought.

This is the third time in the past decade that Hostess has filed for bankrupcty. That's bad management, not striking workers or unions.

Yes folks, it's true. Limbaugh said so. Obama killed Twinkies.

Quote:
Rush Limbaugh: Look, here I’m already being asked, “Are you gonna talk about Hostess?” Yeah, I’m gonna talk about Hostess. You know what, 18,500 people gone, Hostess Twinkies, Ding Dongs, shut down. Some people might think it’s a buy opportunity if you want to get in the Ding **** business. But folks, if you need an indication that the Democrats will never compromise on anything, look at this. Hostess is going out of business because of unions. Now, that’s 18,500 jobs. You would think in this economy that somebody might want to show the ability to compromise if only to fool people. They won’t even compromise on this.

Unions are the Democrat Party. Trumka is at the White House again today. Won’t even compromise to save 18,500 jobs. Are you kidding me? Obama couldn’t step in here even for the optics of it? I mean, yesterday he saved New York. Today he could save Ding Dongs. He could save Twinkies, except at the White House Michelle’s probably celebrating, ’cause this is just rotten, no good food to her. But, see, I think they wanted this, folks. I think they wanted Hostess bye-bye. And you know why? They wanted this to happen because this is just going to create more dependents on unions and the government. It’s just gonna create more dependents. So this is all fine with Barry.

I know nobody understands me. I’m doing this program with a whole different mind-set now. Snerdley’s in there panicking. I’m saying mind-set. As I do this program I’m imagining how I’m being heard by all these uneducated, ill-educated, maleducated young people, and it’s fun, and I’m sure that they’re throwing daggers at their radio because they just heard me criticize Obama on this Hostess thing. Anyway it’s a funny thing. It’s actually a build-out on some of the things that we were discussing yesterday about the battles that we face really being cultural as well as, if not more than, politics. Anyway, the Hostess thing is what it is. It’s gone. We knew it was coming. It just illustrates there’s no desire to compromise.
And the rebuttal -

Quote:
"What Limbaugh is suggesting is that President Obama should have interfered with the free market in order to save a twice bankrupted company that wasn’t profitable. Rush is saying that Obama is guilty of killing Twinkies and Ding Dongs because he would not force workers to accept more crippling concessions to benefit management.

Hostess is dead due to Bain style management that has decided to maximize their profits by liquidating the company. In short, the “job creators” decided to make more money for themselves by killing 18,500 jobs.

If President Obama would have intervened, Limbaugh would have called him a socialist who hates the free market. Since Obama didn’t intervene, he is a socialist who is trying to create more dependents on the federal government. Either way, Rush Limbaugh’s psycho interpretation of The Day The Twinkies Died is complete and utter nonsense."
