That was a very good stage, with Herrera taking the yellow jersey and Fignon winning the stage and taking the third overall position.

The 80s and Fignon provided cycling of several videos and great moments.

José Manuel Fuente's last-ditch attempt to go from three mountains out - again - to claim the 1974 Giro.

The end of the 1980 Olympic Road Race at Krylatskoye Ring, the biggest international triumph of Sergei Suchorutschenkow, probably the eastern bloc's greatest climber. More for historical purposes than anything else, since the video doesn't actually show how he came to build that 3 minute lead (or how Barinov and Lang came to be several minutes up on the bunch either).

Forever tête de la course.

Plateau de Beille 2007. The most stunning uphill finish for the last 10 years maybe. Cycling in agony. The sport on the edge of transusions and CERA eras. A devil mixture of both methods embodied into cosmic wattages. I bet Lance remembered his 2004 and looked at these guys with his mouth opened. Viewing is mandatory.

Courchevel 1997. Festina started on brand new life threatening anabolycs and slaughtered the peloton on the Madeleine.

Heck for a long time I recorded the Tours on VHS too. With such a global informatization, now it's funny to remember about that.

Great thread now we're hitting turbo season. Looking forward to watching the Festina '97 one, and nice work from Jens to find more coverage of the Landis Morzine stage.

Tre Cime di Laveredo, Giro 2007: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlXeeWi4-Pg
Anyone found any earlier coverage than this, from where Mazzoleni attacked? I think I actually have this whole Giro on VHS somewhere

Col d'Aspin, Tour 2008: Ricco

-Monte Pora Stage 19 Giro 2008 - Di Luca/Savoldelli raid.

-Tour of Flanders 2005 - Boonen, PVP, Zabel, Klier, and Armstrong looking menacingly strong trying to bring it all back for George when he missed the move.

- Olympic Road Race 2008
...[Walsh] thinks we're ahead of the curve. But think about it for a sec. We're building long-lasting, trusting relationships with people who are spending a lot of money - Coke, Nike, Subaru. If we're f***ing lying, we can kiss it all goodbye. And if we were lying we'd do some stupid stuff to try to cover it up, wouldn't we? Does anybody think for a second that a secret that big wouldn't come out? Bill Stapleton
