To be sure, Floyd owes the current pro-cycling family very little. So if you're telling Floyd what to do and what not to do in the name of that warm pro-cycling family, Floyd is unlikely to care.

You can't make this up.

The guy who supposedly delivered Contador the tainted beef, that became the Clenbuterol positive that disgraced Contador is now the supreme leader of Spain's UCI affiliate.

http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/...8B00AH20121201

Since when does turning a TdF champion positive get you the Supreme Leader's seat? Something tells me Contador LIED to his fans!!! I'm shocked! SHOCKED!

Pat and Hein once again p!ssing on the remaining fans.

DW help me out. Cerron is voted in by his national fed members in a vote of 63 vs 52.

How is UCI involved?

And are you saying Contador offered his support for the election of Cerron to the voting reps in return for Cerron's support on the beef supply story?
Sorry for being slow on this, havent followed the thread much.

The UCI is a couple of things all at the same time. One is a fiefdom that Hein and Pat operate. The other a collection of IOC-blessed federations that feed at the IOC trough. At the national federation level, it's a small community, even across international boundaries.

Basically, Cerron helped Contador with the lie.

If the tainted beef story were really, *actually,* true, Cerron would have been shunned for bringing international doping controversy to the ASO's premier event and destroying the Spanish TdF win. Instead, Cerron got a promotion.

I don't think Pat and Hein are picking federation leaders, but the way they sunset careers suggests they have some input.

Bert (at 2010 TDF): Jose, I have this premonition that Iím going to test positive for CB. According to my internet research, beef is sometimes contaminated with CB. Could you please get me some beef so that Iíll have a good excuse if I do test positive?

Lopez: Really? I thought everyone had figured out how much they could take and still beat the test, and there was no problem.

Bert: Yeah, but my premonition says the sample will be tested at Cologne, where they have more sensitive equipment. I would just feel more comfortable if I could tell everyone I ate contaminated beef.

Lopez: If youíre going to go to that much trouble, why not eat any ordinary sample of beef, spike it after you eat it, then preserve a sample that you can produce if you test positive?

Bert: Iím not a cheater! I just want to make sure that if I get busted I can tell everyone I ate some beef.

Lopez: OK. I will make sure I not only get a receipt from the shop that sells the beef, but I find out where they obtained the beef from originally.

Bert: Oh, donít do that! Suppose the beef comes from a place that has never had a problem with CB? We want to be purposely vague about its origin.

Lopez: So all you want me to do is get this beef, period.

Bert: Yeah. Itís the perfect foil. No one in his right mind would suspect us of procuring beef before there was even any positive, just in case there was a positive. Except some of those nuts in the CN Clinic, of course. They will believe anything if it suggests someone is dirty.

Ugh. Please, you've never worked in Marketing. The script reads:

Contador: Oh Noes! Pat couldn't make the positive go away! I need another plan.

[phone rings] Hola Jose. Si. No esta bien. All that money paid to Hein and they screw up hiding my positive. At least I don't have to listen to the bruja over at ASO complain about their precious race.

That's good idea Jose! We can blame it on the steak. I will tell our lawyer. Tell RFEC that's the plan. Adios, muchas gracias.

They have the receipt. Just like they have the receipt for the Sysmex machine. But CN were not allowed to take a copy of the Sysmex receipt.

Did we ever see a copy of the steak receipt?

Or was that too transparent?

The EU has excellent meat supply safety so tracing it to a supplier is likely. No one ever wanted the lie to get that far anyway. This promotion seals the deal.

CAS's finding only added to the farce. You may not recall that CAS just pulled their source of the Clenbuterol out of thin air claiming it was from a tainted supplements. Only Contador's side discredited this possibility.
