Seems a pattern - BC/GB resists weakening the timed events for the sake of the more 'tactical' ones.

Now the interesting question from a GB perspective for 2016 is will Cav and Wiggins BOTH try ad get into Team pursuit - Wiggins for his 'Redgrave', Cav for his first gold? Both have all but said they'd like to do it -and if so, assuming Clancy sticks with Team Sprint (big if) who else drops out, Thomas?
Thomas has left the track team so I imagine the Pursuit team for Rio will be:

Cav
Wiggins
Burke
Kennaugh

Wiggins has got an attack of the "Ullrich's". No way he's ready for next years Tour.

Froome v. Contador.

Hey, they used to down the brandy DURING the race - you might think this is an improvement

Froome looks to be the more focused at this point. Long way to go but he's on game.

Wiggins will be knighted in the new year so that's another p1ss up to contend with.

Meanwhile in a village far far away; Contador trains.

You may well be right, but lazily posting tabloid-fodder pictures of Bradley after winning SPOTY does nothing to actually prove that point and has absolutely zero relevance to the thread

I'm a big fan of hard work. I like it a lot.

I see Froome working hard in South Africa parasite free.

I see Wiggins stop/start approach detrimental for long term goals.

Contador has laser like focus. His Vuelta win was 6 months hard work.

It will be Contador v Froome next year.

Wiggins will be no where. I just hope Bradley doesn't resort to the type of assistance Ullrich did.

Should be a stellar 2013. Cycling fans will be the winner.

Wiggins does seem to lack focus but how do you know he didn't put an EPO in his drink on sunday? After all, there is no need to train if you have had an EPO. His behaviour could easily be a good cover for all his drug binging. Anyway, we shall see next summer. If he does well we know he is still doping, if he flops we know he has stopped. Either way it's proof he doped this year.

His prep reminds me of Lance 2005.

He was on the celebrity circuit all year with Sheryl, bombs at Paris Nice, then smashed the field at the Tour. Catching Ullrich on stage 1 screamed "doping"!

If Wiggo pulls the same stunt then you know there's a Doctor somewhere still in business.
