So Sanchez is confirmed for the Giro (well it was already almost sure but you never know). Nice.
Now, are there any big guns who are yet to decide? Btw, did Gilbert already rule out to race the Giro? It would be awesome to see him against Canc

Maybe a little bit off the issue: When it will be announced which wild card teams will take part at this years giro?

Those teams applied :

Quote:
José Been ‏@TourDeJose
Following teams applied for 3 Giro Wildcards: Europcar, Novo-Nordisk, Vini Fantini, Netapp, Bardiani, MTNQhubeka, IAM & Caja Rural, Colombia
Bardiani, Vini Fatini and one of Europcar, Netapp, IAM or Colombia to get it.

no way
one between Bardiani or Vini Fantini (probably the latter)
Katusha
One between Netapp, Iam or (if we're very lucky) Colombia.
(Europcar? I don't really think so)

Katusha ? Depends you see, they don't have to be invited at all. Purito said if Katusha aren't WT he will leave. Without Purito Katusha squad isn't that great, at least at Giro it wouldn't imo. As Moreno would likely try for Vuelta rather than Giro. Katusha are not guaranteed any place at all, that's why Purito is leaving if they aren't reinstated as WT ( unlikely )

Italian teams will always have priority. Simple as that.

Europcar a maybe, depends who would they send there. If one of Rolland/ Voeckler than they should invite them. Doubtful though obv.

italian teams won't have any priority lol. not with acquarone there and his mental globally dreams

he already stated that one secured wildcard for italian teams(the winner of italian championship) is already a big compromise for their worldwide expansion
basically he already let us to know that he will not invite italian teams. in my opinion only farnese has a slim chance

knowing their new politics,i predict the wildcards will be:
katusha(but they might go full retard and invite novo nordisk why not)
colombia

like last year?

Acquarone doesn't give a f*ck of the Italian teams. He'll invite one of them, otherwise he would risk his life , but that's enough.
It's true that KAT without Purito isn't good enough, but that's not the reasoning behind Acquarone Katusha means Russia. Just like last year Netapp was invited because it meant Germany.

I thought that Aquarone asked the Africans to take part at the giro, but they didn't wan to do so?

Anyway, I go for
Vini Fantini
Bardiani
Colombia

as I see Katjoesja getting a wildcard at the Tour instead of Colombia then and Purito will stay.

Good confirmation. Without J-Rod, Scarponi and Sanchez moves a step closer to the top spot. Awaiting next poll installment.
