That was quick, but only 1 performance. How old is he? Palmares? Can Movistar build a northern classics team around him?

32, two stage wins at the Vuelta, Veulta a la Rioja his biggest one day race win and final question YES

He is above 30. Workhorse in the mold of Lastras and super loyal. He can maybe top-10 in P-R if everything goes well, but it seems he has found out he is good at these races a little too late, lol.

He had that impressive break in the Catalunya stage won by De Gendt, didn't he?

He did.

His shape is great. He should target PR with big ambition.

When people made noise that Movistar needed more workhorse to help Quintana in the Tour's cobble, I insisted one Erviti would be enough, I didn't remember how he went that day (was he even in the team?), but I always trusted him.

Txente García used to be Mr. Break of the Day in the Northern Classics in the PT. Lastras took over Txente García's role, so Erviti took over Lastras' role. Now Lastras has retired, so Erviti's taken on that role again. He's turned out to be much more adept at it than anticipated, but it's a bit late to start building a cobbled classics squad. Especially as the best-suited riders the team have for that (the Izagirre brothers, who had a background in 'cross and have shown themselves adept over this kind of terrain) will peak for País Vasco. I can't really see Movistar going out shopping for cobbled engines either (or top notch cobbled riders being that interested in going to Movistar for that matter), but if he can do more of this he can be a useful asset - World Championships roles might be something to think about too.

Not to take anything away from Imanol, but becoming a legend has sure become cheap these days.

What do you mean? He's the biggest legend in the current peloton after Zubeldia (though it's been a while since i saw Zubeldia in the peloton too)

Colosal ride! Next year he and Bala should try to do something big...
That would be great. When I saw Erviti in the break of the day I thought he'd be last caught then disappear when the action started. Man, was I wrong!

I especially liked that legendary Sprint he won against Nicolas Roche in the Vuelta 2008.
