Ads that make noise

04 Jul 2014 22:27

I understand Cyclingnews needs ads, that no problem. But everytime I open a new page, one or two ads play stupid and annoying jingles. Surely that's not the way it is intended?

If this aint fixed soon I'm gonna have to use an adblocker.

Yes, just use an ad blocker. I use Mozilla's adblock. It works very well...zero ads. I don't see the point of putting up with them if I don't have too. :)

Nah I realize that I represent value for Cyclingnews as long as they can show ads (although of course my awesome posts also attracts new users on a regular basis) more or less. So I'm perfectly willing to put up with some non-intrusive ads but yeah, at the moment I can't enjoy either silence or my own music when browsing the forums.

Thanks for the response, Cyclingnews staff. In case you're interested, I installed an adblocker, blocking each and every ad on cyclingnews.com.
