01 Nov 2010 10:19

Finally, I found a live stream for the races broadcast by Sporza, for those who don't have it.

http://www.bvls.eu/

Choice of 4 channels, hope for you that one is working.

Koppenberg cross, that's also a legendary shoulder to shoulder :

Nys putting the hammer down - alone at the front chased by Albert
Stybar chasing ca 40 sec behind. 5 laps to go. He won't make it today.

Nys is best on real dirt. Albert isn't really coming closer. gap 10 sec

Nys had a lekke band entering the final lap and still won with over 1 min.

Look at Nys's time. Thats timing. :D

1. Sven Nys in 1u00'00"
2. Niels Albert 1'07"
3. Kevin Pauwels
4. Zdenek Stybar (Tsj) 2'10"
5. Klaas Vantornout 2'24"

Actually I believe the rules call for the whole race to be finished in about 1 hour, so that perfect timing would result in the winner finishing at about 57 minutes and the first lapped rider being about 7-8 minutes back. that way nobody is on the course for more than 1:04 or so. But it's the Koppenberg so I am sure the course is the same every year, no matter the weather.

I wish I could have been there as well.
