Skinny tyres, drop handlebars and mud. Lots of mud.

Ok. ;)

I don't watch Junior races normally, but he really seemed to be in a class of his own, dominating performance from start to finish.

eta: and I like the course a lot, especially with the snow, should be good races coming up.

They say he posts some lap times that would hold up pretty well in the elite division. Should be interesting to see if he runs through U23s the same way but he definitely looks like one of those guys that won't stay in that division too long.

Huge wreck for the women on the 1st lap.

Can anyone other than Vos or Compton win?

One lap in and Vos with a big lead. It could be over already. Compton couldn't afford to give Vos 27 secs in the 1st lap. A shame she missed that 1st move.

Vos has already won unless she has a bad crash or mechanical. 0:27 lead over Compton after just one lap.

Vos is absolutely dominant. Incredible athlete. Just incredible.

Has 50 on Compton.

This is a crit course. Perfect for Pauwels today. Bad course for Nys.

Van Der Haar is best on fast parcours; he did excellent in the snow in the worldcup at Hoogerheide. :)

Hoping we don't get places 1-7 from Belgium at the elite men this year :p

lol

Oh no. Did the Czech rider's chain slip off or something? That must be soulcrushing for her, but funny to watch.

Elite Women:

It was Nash that entered the finishing straight in 3rd position and had a mechanical. She ended up pushing the bike across in 4th.

Yeah! 3 gold medals so far! Go Holland! :D
Please Van Der Haar, win somehow! :)

Poor Bosmans, though.

lol @the Belgian commentators using the excuse that Bosmons might've come up front too early 'due to circumstances', yeah, Bosmons lost because Teunissen crashed, sure :p

Teunissen was just better in the mud as far as I'm concerned. If it was still freezing, Bosmons probably would've won though; it seemed as if he had more power, but Teunissen was better in the mud.

Nice try by Mouray, but he's going to get steamrolled by the Belgian stormtroopers soon.
