Just sayin!

Eh, but I think Tony's best day are so far behind him that the comparison may be using a bit of a low bar. Plus with a few weeks in the legs I thin he may fade a bit faster than some of his competitors.

yeah he looked super fresh in his stage win, he was smiling while Pinot and Chavez were grinding their teeth.

Should've shared his inhaler with Chavito today though...
Shut up, Jens!

Maybe, maybe not. But if he wasn't winning stages people would be whining about the lack of panache, and dishonouring the maglia rosa

He won't. So far he has only shown he's an impressive Purito.

I've yet to see a sustained effort from further out.

While I agree that we have yet to see that, he's become a better puncheur than he ever was and his puncheur skills always went hand in hand with his high mountain climbing skills, so it's far from a stretch to assume he will also be stronger than ever in the mountains,

He is a talent, don’t surprise me on long grinding climbs due to his weight but riding away from Dumoulin today on a punchy short rise was in the mutant category.

Two seconds? Hardly.

If he'd put 30 seconds into him, than maybe.

Yeah, I don't see anything mutant about what Yates is doing. He's always been punchy. Has looked like a GC contender from his first WT race. It's almost a textbook progression.

Certainly in amazing form, and that always begs questions - but "mutant" to me implies "totally unexpected transformation (in either characteristics or quality)"

If he ends in the top-10 of the ITT, it'd (likely) be quite mutant.

I hope he'll lose enough time so that we'll get to see the team blow the race apart on Finestre.

Except his team have been noticeably absent from the action when compared to teams like Sky.

Hey objectively TdM could easily reel SY (or is it AY?!) from here yes?

But the closed mouth smiling attacks remind me of JTL bossing the WT guys up the ToB climbs while doing the closed mouth smiling thing

Brit Don't Dope of course (praise the Lord!) but this fella has found a new level without apparently trying

Might hafta scratch my sceptical chin for a bit though. And the eyebrows might start twitching. Sorry!

But fundamentally, people. Move along now! Nothing to see here!

Let's see how long he stays in pink. I think he'll be out of it on Tuesday.
