"According to The Times, Varnish’s legal team is considering further action in the wake of the report, which acknowledges that “good governance was lacking at BC Board level in relation to how it managed the culture and behaviours within the WCP". A draft version of the report leaked in March, however, was amended in the intervening period, including the claim that the board had sanitised an internal inquiry into Varnish’s allegations.

Passages critical of Team Sky manager Dave Brailsford, who was also British Cycling performance director until 2014, have also been removed, following a process of “Maxwellisation”, in which those named in the draft report were able to present dispute or counter its contents.

Former British Cycling coach Ken Matheson had provided evidence, and he told The Times that he was “quite appalled” by the final version of the report.

“I would say it is a whitewash,” Matheson said. “The whole purpose of this review was to get to the truth and I’m not sure we have. This is an organisation that has been sick for an awful long time. I feel I have totally wasted my time.”"
This seems to be not over yet - SDB's critical passages removed ... well, well. Who would have thought it.

The honourable Damian Collins was on SkyNews today calling for Cookson's head, which mean he couldn't take selfies anymore.

"In light of the findings of the independent review, I do not believe that Brian Cookson should be re-elected as head of the UCI – he certainly shouldn't receive any support from UK Sport for his campaign," Collins said.

Well that spun out of control faster then a fidget spinner ... Cookson drawn too into the quagmire. Who needs TV?!

According to Eurosport at

"Cookson will not receive any UK Sport funds in his campaign bid."

Frenchman David Lappartient, president of the Union of European Cycling (UEC), is still considering running against Cookson.

I think you may be massively overestimating Damien Collins's influence. No one in cycling knows who he is. Barely anyone in British politics know who he is. He's just a Tory backbencher who has the ear of three or four British journalists (not cycling ones)

"No one in cycling knows who he is", ugh? - maybe dans le continent, but just say Brailsford and Parliamentary Committee and people know. At least Cookson must tone down the bs before Sept 21.

Convenient mnimalization using ad hominem talking points. Have a vested interest for sky or Cookson?

I don't know anything about Damien Collins influence but he does seem to be getting enough publicity surrounding the stink of BC Cycing, Team Sky and Cookson to maybe turn public opinion. And that is good.

Big disagree on that. Bad call by you. The mainstream media are queuing up for the report, esp as the TdF is upcoming. What better story than blowing up SBW while CF is going FR up the Belles Filles LOL no innuendo intended
