For future reference, a summary like this should probably be paired with the average gradient for each individual km. The final kms are all pretty evenly flat, and they were over a minute slower there than in the final km, and slower even than on the steeper portions beforehand. Even if we factor in the sprint it shows some pretty significant soft-pedalling on the flatter sections.

Using that 64 Kg figure and the published power numbers (above), the results from Stage 15 were telling. The GC battle was on during the final climb. Kruijswijk held 6.3 W/Kg for 33m54s, which means so did the small group he finished with (all finished within a handful of seconds of each other):

2 Miguel Angel Lopez (Col) Astana Pro Team 0:00:28
3 Simon Yates (GBr) Mitchelton-Scott 0:00:30
4 Alejandro Valverde (Spa) Movistar Team 0:00:32
5 Steven Kruijswijk (Ned) LottoNL-Jumbo
6 Enric Mas (Spa) Quick-Step Floors 0:00:34
7 Nairo Quintana (Col) Movistar Team

Thibaut Pinot got away on the climb and finished alone ahead of the rest (and presumably had a slightly higher power to weight ratio):

1 Thibaut Pinot (Fra) Groupama-FDJ 5:01:49
