It's an attitude that I think many Anglophones have because most of the music they're exposed to throughout their lives will be in their language so they can afford it, so to speak. But as a non-native speaker who remembers really getting into many English-language songs because knowing any English, I think it's a severe and unnecessary limitation.

edit: not even saying this is your case, by the way. Your post merely reminded me of this.

For what it's worth, I can honestly say my musical preferences have absolutely nothing to do with the language in which it is spoken. I could go on and on about bands, singers I love who do not speak the only language I know.
That said, I'm sorry you feel that way, and I'm sorry that perception is real.

I just love this live-version of Don't Forget Me:

The intro is nice. Frusciante is amazing in this song.

Also addicted to this song. Well, actually im addicted to the whole Stadium Arcadium double album.

My apologies, but this song just reflects that not much has been done by the oligarchs or the politicians to help the working class in the former "Soviet bloc" .

Well yeah. I could have been a little more precise about that hardly being a unique case.

There's not much slowcore music that celebrates positive change.

Touché.

I'm just coming from the former "eastern bloc" viewpoint where things were supposed to get better after the fall of the Berlin Wall. For a lot of people, unfortunately, not much has gotten much better.

YMMV, of course, in terms of your interpretation of the song.

Phantastic Ferniture: F*ckin 'n' Rollin (re-recorded and new video)

Tom has left the band 'for reasons unexplained' (to quote from
Tweeter and the Monkey Man), so Julia, Liz and Ryan have
re-recorded their cult classic for a very much anticipated
album to be released in July with a Brisbane, Adelaide,
Melbourne, Sydney album launch tour during August.

Perhaps the lyrics in this song explain Tom's departure. Is it just a
coincidence that he posted it to YouTube only two days after the
Ferns posted their new "Tom-less" F@ckin 'n' Rollin video? :surprised:
