As a general question of interest (perhaps better suited for the Froome vs Contador thread?) does anyone have something like the top 5 best W/kg performances of AC and Froomey on mountains that lasted for more than say 20 min somewhere? It would be interesting to see the data :)

LaFlo, thanks for the great pics. He looks well and happy :)
Alberto Contador=Legend!

Nibali becomes only the 6th winner of all 3 GTS (2014)!
Nibali joins Gimondi, Merckx and Hinault as only the 4th man to win all 3 GTS and 2 different Monuments (2018). A throwback rider in this age of specialization. Bravo!

He's 6.5 kilos heavier than during his race days so roughly 67-68 kilos which equals 6.6w/kg for 12 minutes.

Not bad for a fat old geezer ;)

Now we're just waiting for him to say he set a new record on his test climb

The rational part of me is glad he's done and enjoying retirement and he likely wouldn't win another GT if he came back, but...I'd be so stoked if he did! :)

I reckon looking at those numbers he's taken a year off, letting his body recover from over a decade of racing then he's going to return at 60kgs for another year :-). On a serious note I bet he does think about it, although retiring after winning on the Angliru would be hard to replicate

Good news for Contador fans, he will be on Eurosport doing recon with Flecha for some of this Tour's stages and he'll do some analysis as well :)

Still love Horners comment about his Veulta. "I knew the only rider who could beat me that race was Alberto and he wasn't there "

We're talking Hypothetical Peak Contador here, a mythical rider who never lost a stage race in his life.
