Riders would be idiots not to mark him just as much. He’s proven himself to be just as strong and smarter (imo). I don’t see him getting any sort of leeway that isn’t also afforded to Sagan.

He was proven winner before PR. They could get rid of him minimum two times during the race. They did not care. They cared only about Sagan. I know, it is very biased opinion but GVA won few races especially PR only because of pelotonś main goal is to get rid of Sagan.

this... their rivals think (in their heads) that gva is beatable on equal conditions (same amount of work,...) but with sagan is different, everybody know that sagan is the best so sometimes they prefer to get rid of sagan very soon or suck his wheel all the time like gva does many times

Those points are fair enough and I agree with you that this is how it was in the past. IMHO, I think things will be different for GVA this year in light of his great year last year.

Sorry, I was wrong...I guess he's always had someone with him.

Except his TdF stage win that put him in yellow in 2016.

I think he should be scheduled for Amstel now. Good decision!

Nice. It has been very strange that he hasn't ridden it the last four years.

I enjoy GVA and Sagan's battles. Sagan has no peers IMO, but GVA is one of the very few that will make Sagan work all the way to the line (and sometimes get the better of him).

I hope he will behave good and do not do something stupid/lame in the presence of pope. I like his behaviour mostly but this time would be really inappropriate.

More often than not, GVA gets the better of him in classics, but Sagan is still the better rider of the two. Greg is cutthroat and rides 110% on results and nothing else, whereas you get the feeling that Sagan also sometimes rides for the show. Greg is so badass after +200 km in cold weather with your typical Belgian cobbled classic race in the legs.

Thanks for this compilation ,so many just focus on top 3 placings , was good to see all the highs and lows of the year. Loved the use of black and white shots to add to the drama. Really excellent work !!

Yes Amstel looking to be very exciting.
For those that like to follow Juraj as well, season looks like this - 4x Challenge Mallorca, Abu Dhabi, Paris-Nice, Milan
-San Remo, G-W , Dwars Door Vlaanderen, RvV, Tour of California, Hammer Sportzone, Tour of Switzerland.
He's not currently listed for Tour de France.
Think that's the most independent season he's had from Peter. Probably Oss coming has given Peter someone else he can completely rely on.

I hope he goes for the sprints in TDU. He seems to be in great shape.
