My guess is, with the dearth of sponsors in spanish cycling, the federation don't want to do anything that would risk pissing off any sponsor. Lose Movistar and it might be the death knell

What’s Movistar’s motive, though. The Spanish kits are neither distinctively Spanish, not distinctively Movistar. They’re just blue jerseys with red and yellow on them.

Surely as a Spanish company, trying for some sort of Spanish identity, they should go all out with the national colours.

Not too bad. Certainly better than some of the jersies Valverde has been forced to wear.

Looks identical to the jerseys they used to wear at the Worlds 20 years ago. It's only missing the flag colors in the neckband

It's essentially the same jersey as last year. The stripe is perhaps a little thicker

I think its acceptable not to have a full jersey like belgium/france/italy etc because its a totally different kind of flag with the yellow block being bigger than the reds. /horizontal etc

Netherlands and Luxembourg are horisontal too, they're managing just fine.

Hmm... I know I've been pretty outspoken about my opinion that full-flag jersey is always best. I guess I can make one exception; Kazakhstan! When was the last time the national champion(s) of Kazakhstan did not ride for Astana? Thing is, a full-flag Kazakh jersey is just the regular Astana jersey...

Davidenok won it for Astana Continental in 2014 but spent most of Qinghai Lake, his only race between winning it and joining the WT team as a stagiaire, in the leader's jersey, and of course Astana Continental's jerseys were more or less the same as the main team's anyway.
