Yup... as if his win wasn't impressive enough.

Hopefully he wins 3 stages in the Giro and the points jersey to make up for this.

Is there any other big GC riders with the balls to attack on La Redoute or at least Faucons?

These climbs have been abused the last 5 years. They are made for beautiful racing.

Alaphilippe out, Gilbert out and yet QS still has one of the favorites for LBL on their roster. What a team ...
Sucks for both of them but maybe Dan Martin can save the day :)

Kwiatkowski do. Wellens too but I wouldn't consider him a mega-favorite unless it rains. :D

Wow, this makes his win in AGR all the more impressive!

But we need him to make the race in LBL, too bad. :(

Hopefully he can get another peak like this later in the season, for WC, autumn classics (Does Lombardia have a super difficult route again?), Canadian races etc.

QS team's really unfortunate.
Instead of having the lineup for the podium sweep, they'll have to adapt to the sole leader tactics.
Equally bad for the viewers, as well. Who's going to make the races now?

I prefer to see him in the Vuelta.

Sad to see that he's out for the rest of the Ardennes but damn 130k injured and still won. What's the rest of his programme like anyway? Giro?

Bummed as well. He's made this spring so interesting. He says he should be back to training in a week.

I guess I missed the memo about Phil going to the Giro. Didn't think about it so I hadn't expected it, but he shouldn't be driving sprint trains for Kittel.

It's actually Gaviria. Kittel won't start the Giro and does California this year. But I don't know how much that would change Gilberts role ...

Hopefully other riders are inspired by the attacking racing from the likes of Gilbert and will try to adopt the same tactics.

Noooo, who will attack now on La Redoute? Or on the second Huy?....
Hope he wins some stages in Il Giro and the NT again.

I'm still hoping that gilbert races liege. Fleche is just a sheldeprijs for climbers, so no one gives a sh## about this race. But a gilbert going bananas on redoute, would be something special
