Pity about the crashes.
Hopefully he will bounce back.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit, knowing how Talansky handled himself in the sprint yesterday.

Konig said:

"Ale v posledním sjezdu šel přede mě ten idiot Talansky a sundal mě asi v šedesátce. ... Po čtvrteční etapě obviňoval Simona Gerranse, že ho sundal, přitom to byla jeho chyba, dneska to shodil zase. Takoví lidi tam nemají co dělat. Promluvím si s ním, nelíbí se mi to."

Translate:

"On the last descent the IDIOT Talansky took me down in about 60kmh. Yesterday he was blaming Gerrans even though it was his fault and today he took us down again. Those kind of people shouldnt be here. I have to talk to him, I dont like it"

Stop crying about anti-Americanism. No one said **** about Van Garderen's crash, other than the fact that is was bad luck.

After seeing how Talansky handled himself in the sprint when he took himself out, though, it isn't hard to imagine that yesterday he took Konig out as well.

You'd think it's the relay race, not a bike race. First Cavendish and Gerrans. Then Gerrans and Talansky. Followed by Talansky and Köning. So who will Köning collide with today?

Yup, Geraint Thomas tweeting ''Andrew Talansky owes
me a pair of shoes'' but I don't think G went round the
Garmin bus and demanded them.

Thanks for that link. The conclusion he makes about suffering is really thought-provoking

What's thought provoking about it? Seems completely standard to me.

Talansky seems to be in a good place mentally, very tough. I hope he'll have better luck next year and show us what he can do.

I was thinking of the very end, the distinction he made between the suffering of competing in a bike race, or training -- and the "pure" suffering when he was finishing the race miles behind everyone, unlikely to continue the next day, and finishing for no particular purpose he can really specify.

Is Talansky going to ride Vuelta this year? It's interesting actually, because Hesjedal and Martin are intended to ride there. Maybe they'll opt to have Talansky at USA Pro Challenge, an important race to them.

On the other hand, they can line-up a Vuelta team with Talansky, Martin, Hesjedal, Cardoso, Dennis and maybe Acevedo and that would be great.

AT is riding well at TdS. Maybe he is getting back to what he is capable of.

As a fellow American it would be very nice. He has two things going against him. His name is Talansky and he rides for Cannondale. Hopefully he can overcome these obstacles. The competition is high - he'll have to fight really hard for a top 10.

Aside from the crashes Talansky badly needs a result in a GT to kickstart his career.

AT had another solid day and could still win the GC at TdS.
