Well, it's not like it's that rare. Gilbert, Kwiaktkowski, Gerrans and Nibali also have it.

Wins are given to few, and my God in what company is Simon Gerrans - Van Looy, Merckx, De Vlaeminck, Kelly and Bettini! :surprised:

Matthews is just a little bit away; 4th in Liege, 3rd in MSR. If the race goes the right way, light sprinters can contest LBL, and quick climbers can contest MSR.

Third monument podium now. Just a little bit is missing, but he is the future of those kind of classics for sure!

He'd be favourite with the 'old' Como finish, I think.

Can only get get better - Missed over 3mths with a knee injury and in previous seasons battled glandular fever - Give him a clear year and he can do damage.

It'll be interesting to see how much he'll have left for the autumn next year after a (hopefully) full season of racing.

Eventually this is a completely wasted year due to injury for Alaphilippe! Let's not forget that. A year where he still impressed big time at P-N, won a stage at the Vuelta, nearly became world champion and expressed himself pretty well at the Italian fall classics. If that's the outcome of a bad year potentially there's so much more to come if he's in peak shape!

Glad to hear that De Plus didn't sustain any serious injuries. At a young age of 22, he's so supportive of Alaphilippe when he just came back on the bike after his knee surgery, watch the last 20 seconds of this video:

Julian's next race - Tour of Guangxi.

Since there is no tv coverage of Tour of Guangxi and we don't have a thread for it on this forum, here is GoPro highlights of stage 1, won by Fernando Gaviria.
