He also got dropped on La Rosiere because he was not good enough. And dropped again on Alpe because he was not good enough. And lost another minute in the time trial because he was not good enough.

That is no shame, and considering it's his 2nd Tour there's a lot of room for improvement. But blaming the team seems kinda out of style?

And he lost only 13 seconds on Alpe because of tactical games in front of him and Nibali dragging him to the finish after the crash.

Lotto was great. I only question the tactics in stage 19, but overall an amazing team performance.

Apparently he's also riding the San Sebastian classic on Saturday.

:) :) We'll see how he does at one day classics!
Alberto Contador=Legend!

Nibali becomes only the 6th winner of all 3 GTS (2014)!
Nibali joins Gimondi, Merckx and Hinault as only the 4th man to win all 3 GTS and 2 different Monuments (2018). A throwback rider in this age of specialization. Bravo!

He is a bit lucky that getting dropped in echelons happened before the mountains and other teams discovering just how strong a threat he would prove to be. With hindsight the teams the right side of the break would have collaborated more to bury his chances.

Plus hitching a ride with Nibali on the second half of Alpe D'Huez was key to his later chances in the tour. Had he ridden solo, he wouldn't have gotten that close to contention in the stage. It kept him in the thick of things in both the stage and the overall.

That type of course should suit him well. The problem is, as is for all the others that rode the tour, fatigue. If he can recover enough, he can be a player, for sure.

Isn't the winner of CSS, more often than not, straight from the Tour? And usually a good ride at it, too?

Yes. Usually the best riders in CSS are those who finish strongly the Tour and Roglic is certainly one of them. He said in a post Tour interview that he honestly doesn't even feel that tired and said that last year he was feeling way worse after the Tour. Last year he finished in the first chasing group (sprinting for 7th place) and this year he is riding on a whole new level. I'd be surprised if he doesn't fight for the victory there. He should be considered among the top favourites, maybe only behind Alaphilippe and Valverde.

Also he didn't blame the team. It was taken out of context. He only said that is crazy to think that if you exclude the TTT he was actually with a chance of winning the Tour already this year and that in the future they'll need to do a better job in TTTs if they want to be serious about threatening Sky. Also the reporter's question was about the time loss in the TTT. It's true that he said something about team's equipment and technology being out of date or something like that and that's one area more where they need to take a step forward.

Something nice posted by Lotto, a half hour documentary about Primoz. I think it was made by some Dutch television, but it's got English subtitles :)

So he is not doing the Vuelta. Someone knows his programm for the rest of the season?

All I know is he's going to the Worlds, not much else on the calendar I don't think.

Could be. But he could've really animated the Vuelta had he gone for it, with a weak Sky and without Dumoulin. But I guess that would be pushing it a bit, since the Tour was his first time going for GC.

Roglic to miss Worlds time trial but will ride road race:

Darn, was hoping he'd battle it out again with Dumoulin.

This is big news. A medal is up for grabs now. I was really looking forward to see the battle between him, Dennis and Dumoulin. But if he has problems with his elbow and if he thinks he has little to no chance at a gold medal, I trust him and think it's the right thing to do. He has got silver already, so he should put all his efforts in trying to win a medal in the Road Race. It's maybe once in a lifetime opportunity. Who knows when will the WC course be this hard again. I expect him to be ready.

More beard than usual at the Tour of Britain :)
Also a strong performance to finish in the lead group.

What a nice performance today from the team to win the TTT and put Roglic into the lead.
