No mechanical after all. He felt bad on the first three climbs, and his sensations improved on the last climbs.

Still, it is amazing how he only lost 4 minutes being 70 km alone.

Apparently docked 5 seconds yesterday for hanging onto the team car.

Should have been a DQ if it was like Nibali in the Vuelta.

Pretty good recovery from yesterday. Looked today he cracked at the same moment as Dumoulin but hung on. Good ride.

Tomorrow will be crucial for white. If he does not lose any time again I think he has a good shot. Of course he benefitted from Yates' crash but still a very solid ride so far this Giro from Bob. He had his 2 down days which he needs to get under control when he wants to be a real contender in the future but he is only 24.

If the Tour goes back to 100 kilometres of time trials in a few years, Jungels would my favourite. Steady progress, just need to fine-tune the machine. The guy has a special engine.

This guy has got an incredible engine for such a big rider. He even has the quality to come back even stronger after a bad day.

Special rider!

Anyways, point being that British fans such as Premier Andrew shouldn't feel so confident as it will be a walk in the park to get this jersey.

He lost over two and a half minutes to nibali on blockhaus alone, and without the crash, I think it's safe to assume this is where Yates would have finished roughly

Sup bro, Jungels is the ****, this is exactly what he did the last stages last year as well. Noticed how Yatesy struggled keeping up? He also has an ITT in the bank.

He was very strong today, he did a ton of work and still slaughtered everyone in the sprint. I think he'll take the white jersey by at least 30 seconds tomorrow.

If he's got this kind of recovery powers as such a young man, imagine when he's 34 and hardened by years of GT racing.

He'll be putting Santi Perez to shame on a yearly basis.

Shame Yates had the crash before Blockhaus, but anyway, fair play to Jungels

I'm always entertained by the "mate's pull". Nibali got one from Cataldo on a previous stage, but Jungels really buried himself helping Tom.

I think he really fancied his chances to smoke the skinny climbers ahead in the sprint. If he's got strength left, there's absolutely no reason to just sit and do nothing, Dumoulin or no Dumoulin.

What a rider. Give him a couple more years and he could be fighting for the pink jersey. Unless the Tour starts having some TT heavy routes again and he can target it.

Not surprising at all for those following this rider, as I've said before, he really has a special engine. I think his ceiling as a GT-rider is higher than Dumoulin, lets see.

I'm super impressed by him! He climbed with the best, but what was most impressive to me was his performance on Thursday, when he dropped with 80k to go and still "only" lost 3 minutes. Big fighter.

He's my favorite for the stage win tomorrow.

Seems to lack the top-end climbing abilities that Dumoulin showed, but showed remarkable recuperation and is actually better at the end.
Jungels might well become the next GT surprise in 1/2 years
