I find this thread really funny to read and I don't think anyone meant the first comments serious and I think as long as stupid comments aren't meant to annoy anyone but just to be funny there is no reason to delete them.

It won't get closed as long as the discussion revolves around Christophe Laporte as his "riders thread".

If mods think that the OP or anyone else wants to use this riders thread for purposes other than discussing the rider in question then it may get shut down, or the member that takes the thread in that direction could be sanctioned or both. My point is that this thread should be treated the same way that any other riders threads are treated, despite the ridiculous OP.

"Another" World Tour rider in the picture would suggest that Laporte is a World Tour rider himself. Which we all know he is not. :D

Bahahaha! This thread is eerily familiar to a Laporte thread from another forum...... Bravo Laporte17 ;)

Solo victory today for the legend. Even after Bouhanni had gone solo before. Pretty epic stuff.

Anyone else get the feeling that Laporte17 is actually the real Christophe Laporte ("The Greatest")?

A bit of self-advertisement.

He'd be my favourite cyclist in the world if so.

Laporte17 has 6000+ posts in a PCM forum with a different username.
I think it's the sign of a clean rider and a real sportsman to be attracted to the bigger challenge over the ultimate result. Good luck with the Giro/Tour double, Chris Froome. -Phil Gaimon

I wouldn't be surprised if a pro cyclist was registered here.

Actually, Luis Angel Maté was a user of a Spanish PCM Forum back in his amateur days. One of the Herrada brothers was registered in one of the most relevant Spanish cycling forums, as well as Juanjo Cobo, which is a very down-to-earth and nice guy.

Cavendish writes in his autobiography, 'At Speed', about how he read through cycling forums about himself, in particular when he was injured.
He didn't mention any forum in particular, but there is quite a high likelihood that it is the CN forum.

EDIT: And Velorooms have cyclists who blog and answer q and a's. In particular, Synergy Baku is active there. I find this thread particularly interesting: http://velorooms.com/index.php?topic=7889.0

Janez Brajkovič used to post on the PCMdaily forum a few years ago :)

Anyway this thread wasn't started by Mr Laporte himself, Forever the Best has it right on this one.

In six of his seven race days so far this year he was at least 7th. Imminent breakthrough.

Turned 25 now and proving just how good he is - he's not stopping too. KBK and Omloop are surefire wins and then we'll see where he goes from there, Cofidis finally realising his potential to lead in the classics is amazing but surely TDF stages (and green?) are in the back of his mind? it's a shame there's no prologue as he's loving those but maybe he can just take yellow with a Stage 1 win.

Yeah looks like Sagan is finally going to lose that green jersey (through actually being beaten, rather than through a DQ)
