Andrew Talansky announced his retirement. Very early in a career that didn't see the progression he might have hoped for, but which was still pretty good.

That is extremely surprising. I always liked the guy, even though injuries and other misfortune pretty much stagnated his career.

What an unnecessary comment.

You should know, you made about 5000 of them.

It is still a discussion. Someone questioned the move from De La Cruz to Sky and I just answered with an explanation as to why it is still a good pickup for them. So all those posts where still about transfers.

Yes, let's discuss the form, progress and team role of every rider that makes a transfer in this thread. Makes total sense.

I'm stunned by Talansky's decision. He's best years are basically still to come at 28?

Is there something else?

It's hard to know his reasons, but he never appeared to enjoy the pressure to perform that came with being one of the main US prospects and he may have come to the conclusion that if he wasn't likely to get much better it wasn't worth the struggle. With Cannondale in trouble, he might have to settle for less money or opportunities and also I think he has just had a kid. It's a bit out of left field, but not entirely inexplicable.

i guess movistar budget is pretty low 15 millions , so with landa 2,5 millions are gone , also with Nairo 2,5 millions , so i fear this team could be in difficulty in the next season , if they don't increase budget

I don't consider Steels and Waeytens very strong support considering Devolder is most likely gonna retire.

well Devolder hasn't done anything this year at all, the rest of the team is rather weak at the moment, at least Steels and even more Waeytens (foR Degenkolb)has the experience of the classics
