Kämna is very young - he turned 21 just eight days ago. Even in 2018 he would still be eligible for the U23 races at the worlds. That being said, his palmares is quite impressive for his age:

Junior World Champion ITT
U23 European Champion ITT
Winner of the German national racing series, the Bundesliga
German Hillclimb Champion

He's talented as hell, that's for sure.

Someone hasn't been following cycling closely recently.

Ive seen the procyclingstats as u have, dont even try it kid.

Kamna is a huge talent in both TT's and climbing. He's been followed closely on the youth circuit, and he got top 10 in the Vuelta ITT, while dropping out the next day.

I have been keeping an eye on Kamna since he won 2014 UCI WC ITT at the age of 18.
The last two years I have bought him on PCM in every career I play and developed him into a GT winner.
And check out this years Vuelta ITT:

You can read my post about him there, if you want.

Dennis rode 3 ITT's this year. He won all three, but none of them were in a gt where the TT specialists are usually at their best so not sure if he is really the clear favorite like you say. I'd rather put my money on Dumoulin

Fully agree; their relative records of performing under pressure is very heavily in Dumoulin's favour.

TomD: 2015 Vuelta ITT, 2016 TDF ITT; 2016 Olympics; 2017 Giro ITT, 2014 Worlds
Dennis: 2015 TDF prologue

Yes, Dennis has won TTs at some one-weekers this year; all very creditable but you cannot realistically equate that in any way to a full length GT ITT or ITT medals at Worlds or Olympics. Only once has Dennis been even close to a medal at this level ... and even then, the mechanical probably only took him out of bronze.

Dennis certainly has the talent and, hey, maybe he will do the business come Wednesday but really; his CV (at the highest level) hardly lives up to the hype/reputation.

Dennis never came close to something like this tho:

it included this climb near the end

15th on Terminillo - he was 2nd overall there. Probably more importantly, he was 9th to Fermo on the murito in the same group as the winner. The Suisse TT was fairly similar, except the climb came towards the end rather than at the end, but it was hard enough for Pozzo to finish only 1 minute down. So Dennis has a decent chance but it hinges more on Dumoulin having a big off day or having an issue on the course (mechanical, crash, intestinal problems etc.). He'll probably finish ahead of Froome though.

At least 10s. Probably would have been better off with Poels

Gotta say Sunweb have a fanstastic tem...they have invested inyouth and it is paying off

Quickstep disappointing
Orica likewise...not a great year for them

BMC did everything right ....just didnt have it on the climbs

Woudllove to see the team times just on the climbs ..

Dennis should be the clear favourite - Whether he can do it is another question - Both Dennis and Dumoulin have had their share of disappointments at the World's/Olympics.

Why should he be the favourite.

I agree. If it was 40km than dumo and froone were favourites. 30km and lumpy is perfect for Dennis..
