I suppose so, pretty optimistic, though.
Then again, if he's expecting improvement, this is the only way.

Speaking of Poels... with Bernal and Thomas gaining power in Grand Tours, is he even allowed to lead any races?

He is likely to co-lead them in the Ardennes along with Kwiatkowski and Moscon, but is that about it?

If Thomas is leading them in Paris-Nice and Romandie for Tour prep and Bernal in Tirreno-Adriatico and Tour of the Alps for Giro prep, there isn't much room for personal ambition. Although Froome might start slow if he want to do the Tour-Vuelta double again, there still isn't many races for Poels to lead.

The Itzulia? Or maybe in Ruta Del Sol or a minor race like that.

Sounds about right except Pinot will not ride Liege so I would give him Le Tour and predict Nibali for Liege. The finish will be on the flat.

2 GTs 2 monuments is kinda greedy even for Lo Squalo.

Seriously when's the **** Liege route coming out. If they don't change anything and only remove SN and Ans I'm not that optimistic.

Great question. I'm not expecting most of the route to change much though.

If they do it properly, I expect Liege to be a different race to what we have know it for the last 6-7 years, much like Amstel. Just gotta competent for once, do it right and get much greater opportunity for a watchable race.

Exactly. All they need to do is make the 30km before La Redoute harder. Rosier and Maquisard is a big mag of nothing.

Adding the Targnon is all it takes. It's the hardest climb in Belgium. 2 km at 13% still fits into the whole "short but steep" aesthetics of LBL.

https://www.climbbybike.com/climb.asp?Col=Targnon&qryMountainID=17475

It can be added with 50-60k to go. Only problem is that you need to pave the downhill gravel sector for it to work.

I won last year, and no I didn't do very well :)

These were my early predictions:

Giro: 1 Dumoulin, 2 Aru, 3 Chaves
Tour: 1 Froome, 2 Porte, 3 Quintana
Vuelta: 1 Froome, 2 Quintana, 3 Chaves

Strade: Sagan
Sanremo: Sagan
Ronde: Sagan
PR: Sagan
Liege: Valverde
Lombardia: Nibali
Worlds: Valverde
Worlds ITT: Dumoulin

And these were my predictions leading up the the races:

MSR: 1 Sagan, 2 Kwiatkowski, 3 Alaphilippe
RVV: 1 Terpstra, 2 GVA, 3. Gilbert
PR: 1 Terpstra, 2 Demare, 3 Sagan
Liege: 1 Matthews, 2 Valverde, 3 Alaphilippe

Giro: 1 Froome, 2 Dumoulin, 3 Lopez
Tour: 1 Froome, 2 Porte, 3 Quintana
Vuelta: 1 Quintana, 2 Lopez, 3 S. Yates

Worlds: 1 A. Yates, 2 Valverde, 3 Alaphilippe
Worlds ITT: 1 Dumoulin, 2 Dennis, 3 Kiryienka
Lombardia: 1 Valverde, 2 Pinot, 3 Uran

I guess I mainly won because of my RVV and Giro predictions.
