Seems like another boring one week-stage race than.
On a side note guys,
I was thinking of starting a "random questions thread" where you could ask questions about riders who don't have their own discussion thread (yet) or who don't have a team discussion thread. Anyone else who thinks that this might be a decent idea?
The Day Team Sky disappears from cycling I'll truly enjoy watching a mountainous Grand Tour stage again -- former Milan-San Remo winner I interviewed.

Anyway, think there's a chance they'll put the hammer down.

No, that's a mistake in their profile.

I don't think any of the favourites will be allowed any room, and I don't think they can force it either. Kwiatkowski or Gerrans should grab stage and leader's jersey.

It will inevitably finish in the Godwin point of cycling: Froome vs. Contador. :D

Vuelta a España wildcards for Cofidis (FRA), Caja Rural-Seguros RGA (ESP), Aqua Blue Sport (IRL) and Manzana Postobon Team (COL).

Direct Énergie once again ejected of a WT event by lesser teams.

Yes, but in the end they'll still ride the Tour, for a french team who's still riding the Tour it's not the end of the world.
I like Postobon, but I don't know if the should ride a gt in their first year at PCT level.

^ I agree. And not just for the argument of "They'll take the spot from another (more worthy) team.", but also because, well... let them find their feet a bit on this level before throwing them into a GT.
Same goes for Aqua Blue Sport.
Aka The Ginger One.

Agreed. Especially for Manzana who don't seem to have the rider quality to do much

The World Ranking is rolling, the WorldTour Ranking is for the season. Sagan leads the former, Greg the latter.

I agree that Manzana should of taken a season to settle before tackling a GT but I don't think the same can be said about Aqua Blue, while I think other PCT teams would of been a better choice I think Aqua Blue can send a team that would make a worthwhile stage hunting/breakaway team, they don't have a GC guy but have riders who have started and completed GT's, have results against good company and have had a decent start to the season for a new set-up.

I like the Vuelta wildcards.

The Vuelta has more room to experiment than the other GTs. There's only one Spanish PCT team, so they don't have to fill all or most of the slots with teams that might die otherwise. Plus, many of the really obviously wildcard contenders already have a GT invite and so for them the Vuelta would be something of an afterthought.

Caja Rural will always get a slot, Cofidis unfortunately will too. After that, well why not go a bit left field? They can be quite sure that Manzana and Aquablue will treat their race as the central goal of the season and will try to have their best riders there in their best form. Thats more than can be said for most teams at the Vuelta.

That said, it has been a while since a first year PCT team got a GT wildcard, so it's quite remarkable to see two such teams get one to the same GT. I didn't expect either team to get one already, but it really isn't as if there are long lines of better PCT teams they skipped in front of.

That's true, but it's still the Vuelta. Tier 1 PCT teams should take precedence.

De Panne = Durbridge's race to lose.

Anyone agree? Especially with his newfound taste for the cobbles, strong results and the 14.2k TT.

Sory but i didn´t understand it.

Wich ranking counts? How do you get in the end of the year wich cyclist really won if the points are diferent in each one?

Should expect nothing less than a podium - Gilbert will be the favorite - Stage 1 is crucial.

Gilbert will have to drop him on the Muur. Otherwise, I doubt he will win it.

Kristoff is also a problem but he doesn't seem to be at 100%. Still, he can take some bonus seconds on stage 2 and 3.
