In 2015 Degenkolb was the last rider to win two monuments. It's time Vincenzo

I they think riding the extra ITT in a season will help him for next year. And I get it, he hasn't done any ITT in good form this year.

"I'm chasing them like two lines on a graph,"

No language I ever expected to hear from a cyclist  :D

It doesn't make much sense, though.

It is if he's talking about asymptotes.

Let me believe Nibbles is secretly math wizard

It doesn't make much sense to have two lines on one graph, unless if it's a graph of a piece-wise defined function... Maybe if it's two graphs, it'll make sense. It's definitely an error in translation, though ;)

And who's the clownfish above supposed to be? Valverde?

I have no idea. Just another day in the mysterious world of Nibali metaphores

I have no expectations today other than that he has a good ride and hopefully feels good about it afterwards. Saturday seems a dream, but maybe just maybe he can find that bit he is missing. Forza Vincenzo!

Alberto Contador=Legend!

Nibali becomes only the 6th winner of all 3 GTS (2014)!
Nibali joins Gimondi, Merckx and Hinault as only the 4th man to win all 3 GTS and 2 different Monuments (2018). A throwback rider in this age of specialization. Bravo!

I hope that at least he goes for Saturday, Sunday would be kinda late for Lombardia! :D

"I could be in my best form in two or three weeks, but I'll be on holiday by then." Good opportunity to finally drop his father somewhere on a mountain in Sicily.

Well not an easy task by any means, cycling runs in the family blood!
They say Nonno Vincenzo was still climbing around the city at 80... :D

Decent performance today, maybe he should have followed Uran but it's easier said than done.
Btw, someone knows if he is riding Tour of Guangxi?

Team BAHRAIN MERIDA Sports Director Alberto Volpi:

“We were not favorites, but we wanted to make a good race for this reason we were covered in group and then we try with Giovanni. Even today Vincenzo has given good signs and going towards Lombardy I can say that he appears to be growing, calm and master of the situation. I am confident that Saturday will be among the protagonists”.

Apparently he's scheduled for Chrono des Nations after Lombardia.
Then I imagine he'll go to Taiwan KOM Challenge since already last year was sent there by Merida and ASO announced him for Saitama Criterium a couple of days ago.

Gotta capitalize on that peak shape no?

Saw the race today, actually he is decent and there are a few magic days until GdL. With this shape and a strong team he can invent something. Just don't chat with Valverde.
