Then he became a TT specialist.

Looks like it's time for another makeover. If so, what do you see in his future? Grand Tour Domestique? 1-day classics rider? 1-day classics domestique? Retirement? Join Sky and win the Tour de France by more than 3 minutes?

He lacks the track pedigree and the right passport to become a TdF winner at Sky
.

Great all arounder. Will never win a GT as he is a terrible bike handler

I've been a little out of touch lately but did I miss something? I don't remember any hints about this move. He's been a great team player, but maybe he'll be able to kick start his own results with the move.

Alpecin coming on board as a sponsor meant that Katusha was looking for a name German rider and Martin really was the only one left on the market, I remember reading somewhere a couple of weeks back that they were interested in him

Wherever he goes he will be a work horse because he can't sprint or climb with the best. So he is good for the TTT and the ITT, is very experienced and strong and sometimes if he is allowed to sneak away he could get a stage win. He never seemed too interested in the classics although he usually worked for others. His best TT days seem to be behind him. A good buy for Katusha.

Who do you think is the 2nd highest paid rider in Katusha?
