I'm calling him to come out and announce that trek have signed him for a 1 yr contract. However he is not targeting the tour and targeting the giro and the Ardennes. And it's now or never. If he performs they will extend his contract if not he will retire.

In all seriousness tho, I think he will retire. Shame as I always wanted him to get back to full strength. He was an exciting rider to watch.

Maybe he's going for the Hour record?

He hasn't seemed interested in racing for much longer times than that anyway.

I don't think it's a case of "kicking him when he's down," and I say that only because Andy received plenty of flak, for plenty of reasons, even at the height of his powers. A lot of people just don't care for him. Even if he had just won a GT, Worlds, Lombardia, and was in good health, lots of folks would still be dishing it out, and not unhappy about a possible retirement.

I never like to see a rider end his career prematurely due to injury either, but I won't miss Andy. I do wonder, though, if he and his brother have any regrets about the unceremonious way in which they left Bjarne's team. On so many levels, things never did quite work out as they had hoped. Obviously.

Time to retire. Hope the injuries recover to the extent whereby he can still ride his bike.

I'll remember him as the only rider in nigh on the last 30 years to win the Tour and a Monument. Some achievement.

Evans has. Unless we don't consider worlds a monument.

Except he didn't win the Tour.

The ASO say he did win the Tour...and I appear to have come to the end of my argument.

Out of curiosity why is worlds not considered a monument. It has the history and has a lot of prestige for winning. Not to mention creates a lot more interest than what lombardia does and it's at the same time of year.

I'm an andy fan, but I will never say he won the tour. I don't care what aso say, I know he didn't win the tour. To me it's either a no result like the Armstrong years or a contador victory.

Andy doesn't even consider it a "real" win. He knows that AC beat him on the road and in reality that is all that counts. You can't change history.

I've been a fan for a long time and really hoped he could get over his injuries and get back to his true form. If it's Au Revoir, and it sounds like it is, thanks for the memories Andy and good luck..

That is just mean.... :D

Hope Andy anounce that he signed a new contract, and expects to challenge for the Tour next year. Hope dies last anyway..
