A combination of both, I'd say.
I've been among the ones overrating him in the first place. I'll just try to keep my expectations very low from now on.

I sure wasn't expecting his performance today.
His resurrection on the first ascent to Alpe, just beautiful. Overall a great ride.

He said after the stage he paced himself both times and hoped he could catch Riblon and TJ again. He was happy and stunned by the crowd, something he will never forget.

I just checked the results and spotted him finishing 14th today. For now he's flying a little bit under the radar, but he seems to come fine for MSR to help Sagan and for the ardennes to shine himself.

Surprised he did so well today.

Is he trying to convert in to a stage racer?

As much as last year, yes.
The question is: will he be back to his pre-"Strade Bianche 2013" level?

One good performance, then back to mediocrity. This is still 2013 Moser.

He's not a stage racer, his recovery is not good.
And this brings us to the real problem. Why pushing to the limit yesterday, if realistically nothing more than a top15 was at stake?
Why not soft pedal the whole way to the finish and then try getting in the breakaway today?

Last year in Suisse was the same. I struggle to understand why he keeps doing this.

Still my favorite rider though :)

yes, without any doubt his recovery and consistence are not good, at least he should get rid of his GC dream in the future and focus on hunting stage and/or one day races. He should learn from the lesson and do what he should do

There is still youth and hope in Moser somewhere. Can't say that for Dekker :(

CANNONDALE. Amadio e il "problema Moser"

Amadio finally acknowledges something's going FUBAR with Moreno.
It looks like in the Giro he crashed and got a little infection, yet still his performances have been subpar.

They're going to test him throughly, we'll see what's gonna happen.

Next races for him: Tour de Suisse and Italian Championships

"The official Moser is the new Yaroslav Popovych thread" or "The official Moser is the new Jani Brajkovic thread" should do it. :p
