Looks like things were pretty bad for Riis
http://www.radsport-news.com/sport/sportnews_76071.htm

"I was at the bottom and near total collapse," Riis said in an interview with the Danish TV2 on the side of his wife Anne Dorthe Tanderup. "I spent the whole day lying in bed with the curtains closed, because it was impossible to understand these developments," the Tour winner of 1996. "I saw it coming no end. Had they taken our license, then all the work and the life cycle would have fallen apart. "

Yeah, he had a depression last year.

I can see how such a thing could depress someone, but his incapability to understand the developments sounds revealing of a certain mindset, still living in the past, irreformable.

It´s almost a year old news, at least in the danish media.
Today danish TV is broadcasting a documentary about Riis, a TV crew had followed him through a year, also in this depressing period, but he reveals nothing about doping or takes a stand to the accusations from former riders.

I don´t think that is the case Christian.
His hands are tied behind his back, hes cornered.
If he starts to speak in public, he might as well pour gasoline on his life's work and light a match, it would be all over. Now he found a way out, but still wants to stay in the sport, we just have to wait and see.

He says he have revealed everything to the danish doping authorities though several meetings, and have informed his family...I guess something is on the way, and its not good news for mr. Riis.

I'm saying no to the following: "He says he have revealed everything"

In the doco he did *not* say that he has revealed everything. He might have told everything to ADD, but he hasn't said he has, in the doco.

I haven´t seen the doc yesterday unfortunately, I just read it somewhere.
But whatever is the truth, if he did or not, -wouldnt it be a good time to come clean, confess your sins away from the public eye, ADD will probably not go public with all the information he might or might not have provided them.

It looks like to me its the public opinion hes afraid of first of all, and of course losing his job.

In case somebody else didnt see it, heres a link to youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7UytOlVsOo

Now I watched the doc, hes using the phrase "I talked to ADD and told them WHAT I know"
If its any different than saying "all I know" -well.... don´t think so.

Anyway, in my opinion it just showed the same old Riis, I think its fair to say he brought him self in the situation hes in.

So Oleg wants to boycott the Tour de France.... don't know if that's a clever move. To reappropriate the words of the great Gregory House, M.D.: "Sometimes, the bigger they are.... the harder they kick your @$$"

Saxo Bank is a new sponsor of the Lotus Formula 1 Team.

Lotus is run by Luxembourger Gérard Lopez, rich businessman and friend of Flavio Becca. Lotus has also been reported to have high depts, and it has been confirmed that their pilote Kimi Raikkönen has not received part of his salary.
