Future cobbles challengers.

The present generation of top dogs - Canc/Boonen/Ballan/Pippo - will hang around for another olympiad, but younger blood will increasingly challenge them for the big prizez.

We have Vanmarcke, Sagan and Boom looking to be up there.
G Thomas might be a good one.

But who else?

Phinney is the first one that comes in mind. The steep little hills are yet too much for him, so I don't expect him to win Flanders soon. Paris-Roubaix is definitely possible.

Degenkolb of course.

BTW Moser? Has the guy ever even done a cobbled race?

I thought Maaskant was the next big thing after his P-R a few years ago. Same with Langeveld.

Phinney is seriously good on the pave. He could definitely be in the mix. Sagan can probably win either Flanders or Roubaix... not sure what kind of classics team he has at his disposal though.

I expect big things from Phinney on the cobbles, he could be Hushovds replacement as leader if Hushovd can't get it together this year. Sagan I thinly could challange in both RVV and PR. At the moment RVV, I believe, is his main target. And Vanmarcke can't be discounted, after all he's already beaten Boonen once.

Possibly Durbridge, Demare, Navardauskas, Gallopin, Kwiatkowski, Van Rensburg, Fenn, Sinkeldam, Keukeleire, Van Asbroeck, Lindeman, De Vreese, Rowe, Wallays, Van Bilsen. These are some of the less known young riders who may have the potential to be a contender for cobbles.

Did someone suggest Luke Rowe earlier? Not sure i see that one.

Sagan, Phinney and hopefully Thomas could challenge in the future.

Probably a stupid question; but has Tony Martin any chance at PR?

Nah. Cant see it. Not pure cobbler at least.

More of puncheur that's good on cobbles. Sort of Gilbert style, Ronde suits him, but Robuaix won't as much.

Phinney should be the BMC leader for PR next year. Hushovd can be plan B, although I think he's time has passed.

Yes, almost too obvious, so I forgot. Degenkolb was another good mention by others.

Florian Senechal has the potential to become a real monster in the classics.

Jasper Stuyven obvious is incredibly gifted.

Guillaume Van Keirsbulck has a lot of class as well; I reckon he will be very, very good!

Ignazio Moser and Andzs Flaksis both have the physic for races like Paris-Roubaix.

Victor Manakov is a bright prospect as well!
