Vino, Wigans, Evans, Froome ... they all have had sh*t years and they all came back argueably even stronger than before. Andy has a lot of years left in his career, if it won't be next year than the year after.

You could also argue that all of those riders are mentally tougher than Schleck and more motivated. I hope he does come back to his best but I won't believe it until I see some glimpses of what he can do and has done in the past. All cycling fans would love to see Froome, Schleck, Contador and others going head to head in the Tour next year. We witnessed a great battle in the Vuelta and the Tour could be just as hard fought.

Being Contador fanboy is a diagnosis. What a pusillanimous view on the sport! Damn, I'm shocked. Listen up everyone who voted 'no'. Do not dream. The Legend will punish all of you so harshly that I'm afraid you will end up with following cycling.

Since you can't see who actually these 18 voters are, how can you confidentally say they are "contador fanboys" or simply just individuals who don't think Andy will be capable of getting back to his best? Who is to say they are Contador fans at all?

I think he likely won't be back to his best until 2014 but he will reach a decent level of competitiveness, lacking the ability to create and maintain a gap on his rivals in the mountains.

Even if Schlecklet returns to his best form he will get spanked by AC for a number of years. However, he seems so mentally fragile that I wouldn't be one bit surprised if he chooses to retire rather than race without Fränk by his side.

you dont need to be a mathematical genius to know that a HUGE percentage of this whole forum thinks the sun shines out of contadors *** , so on that basis my estimate would not be far wrong sir .

andy comes from one of the smallest countries on earth so his fan base is never going to compete with any other rider , it seems to me this is a major reason of why he gets so much hatred on here because he is basically a boy from nowhere with huge natural talent that could possibly take a lot of glory away from the so called superstar .

Why would we hate him because he comes from a small country  Andy has a huge fanbase in for example the US and France so stop moaning.

And wtf are you saying almost everyone on this forum are Alberto fanboys, wow you must be ignorant. :D There are a few big fans of his and a lot of people like him because he is exciting to watch. But there are also a lot of people who hate him for example airstream who wants him dead.

So his performance on the Tourmalet, Galibier, LBL (2009) weren't his best? If he wasn't at his best in those races just think what he would do to everyone when he's at his very best :D. Complete annihilation :D.

He is older and stronger; at least physically. No I don't don't think we've seen his best, but I'd like to!

I'm a non-Spanish speaking African-American from Michigan. How does that fit into your pigeon-holing of how many fans a rider has and where their base is?

The often cited reason Andy gets it from some here is because of how unmotivated he tends to be in virtually every race except for a one week period at the end of April and in the month of July.

As far his massive natural talent, that has never been in dispute but you are in error if you think that most here wish that he would simply go away because he's such a threat to Contador. If you haven't been paying attention many here have altered their opinion greatly on Andy and hope that he returns to his best so that we can see the great battles in the mountains of the Tour. He gets criticized because of his not making the most of his "natural talent". Of course his being a threat is greatly dependent upon his improving his skills versus the clock and that certainly hasn't appeared to be something that he has shown a great willingness and motivation to do.

If he had a good mentality he would be much better. But he doesn't.

I used to like him, and was excited when he emerged in the Giro all those years ago. Never got a TT, never got his head on straight. Entitled whiner.

Could be (should be) back to his best this year. Should have been last year but wasn't. I'll vote for 2013, but his best isn't good enough.

Maybe this year will finally have provided him with the motivation he needs to put his talent to good use, and give him a winners mentality. I'm hoping this year has done this.
