Which race has the most beautiful trophy in road cycling?

16 Dec 2012 21:18

We're in poll-season my friends :D
This topic appears recurrently in other threads so we might as well start a proper one.
To see all the trophies you want, just take a look at this article.
I chose the candidates based on my own taste, so if I don't match yours just choose "other" and specify.
You can vote up to three trophies.
A race that doesn't give an attacker the chance to finish it off alone is not a race anymore.

Roubaix is the best and most well known trophy in cycling.

Dauphiné, Paris-Tours and Paris-Nice all have the same trophy... Shame on ASO.

1. Giro
2. Toss up between T-A and Paris-Roubaix

Roubaix for me then T-A and the Giro. The Jayco Herald Sun Tour one in my view is also great.
I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong

The Grand Boucle wasn't just Europe's for the taking.

Tie between Giro and Roubaix for best, the tirreno trident in 2nd, LBL in 3rd due to it's size.

Tirreno for being something completely different plus Roubaix for historical value.

T-A for me.
It's just... so awesomely weird! :p

P-R is nice too, it's just a little to obvious to be honest.

Giro is classic but... maybe that's the problem; in a way it's still too close to generic trophy-styles.
