What an attack by Slagter, but my goodness do they need to fix that jersey!!! Why does RSLT send their strongest guy to soften them up? Don't get why Machado also attacks with 5 km to go and gets caught within the final 2 always.

Very exciting finish :)
Peter Sagan:
"I under-evaluated him (Gerald Ciolek) a little bit. I was watching Cancellara, who was trying to break free, and maybe I did too much work," Sagan said. "Ciolek stayed in the wheels and he took my wheel to do the sprint and was able to beat me. I went too early in the sprint."

17/03/13 Milan - San Remo

Peter Sagan:
“We went away in a break on the Oude Kwaremont, but then Cancellara went for it on the Paterberg and I wasn’t able to follow him,”

How on earth did G lose that much time in like 600 meters? Woah. Looks like he isn't a GT/classics contender after all :D

Wow, Slagter. What an attack. The first leader of the WorldTour this year.

Or 'that Blanco guy', as Gerrans respectfully calls him.

How is it ?

Thomas wasn't just strong enough. Nothing to do with Sky fail, they set it up perfectly for him with EBH till the last 800 metres.

He just then blew up. Nothing that could be done as he gave his all.

Brilliant win for Slagter though :) Pure power with that attack :)

Good finish, I was really scared Sky would ruin things for a while there.

Euskaltel picking up some nice points here :) Nice to see Blanco with good start. After the months they had, it's should be great for the team morale!

Thomas to grab 3rd overall tomorrow in the intermediate sprints? There aren't any other teams interested in the seconds, I'd guess. And Euskaltel and Radioshack are lacking in sprinters to nullify them. Would Sky bother?

It wasn't just him. Gerrans & Slagter took 10 seconds on everybody.

Not that it would have made a difference to the race winner but Thomas would have been better off not doing the intermediate sprints the past couple days

He lost 28 seconds to Slagter in 600m or so. Complete implosion.

Was it just me watching online or did everyone else seen just the winner and nothing else but trees and trees and trees? At least online they didnt show what happened after Gerrans crossed the line. If I'm not alone, this race really is a real joke.

Edit: maybe not the race but the event organizers and TV coverage.
