2019 Spring Classics CQ Game

Come in and talk about betting, computer games and cycling simulations, and your office's or online fantasy cycling leagues.

Moderators: Eshnar, Irondan, King Boonen, Red Rick

You could find the threads in the games sub-forum, and scan through them.

Or you could look at the thread for each year's competition, download the final spreadsheet from Dropbox, and trawl through those.

I wouldn't have any quicker way (well, I think I have all the spreadsheets on my own laptop, so one step less)

That confident for Sunday, are you?

I just saw once that someone had done all kinds of statistics of the year-long game and thought maybe they had done the same for this :)

And to the final question: Let's just say that I am guaranteed 55 points if all my riders finish.

Can't be certain, but I doubt the scores for Paris Roubaix in the first (2013) edition of the game have been topped:
1 Afrank 670 (Cancellara, Vanmarcke, Stybar, Langeveld +3)
2 rmeloa 640 (Cancellara, Vanmarcke, Langeveld, Eisel, Breschel +4)
3 LightBing 560 (Cancellara, Vanmarcke, Eisel, Breschel +3)

Still fancy your chances on Sunday?

Well, I got 574 in E3 and there are more points on offer in Flanders, plus van der Poel didn't do E3.

Race 14/21: Ronde van Vlaanderen

A popular winner, but the rest of the podium went unselected, for very different reasons.

I introduced this thinking we might get some close competition, maybe featuring someone other than those in the hunt for the main game: little did I know...

No record, or even season's best, but still left everyone else in the shade.

Teams for this game will be made differently from next year...

Race 15/21: Scheldeprijs

No joy in "his" race for the 7 teams who have chosen Kittel, but some teams have gained something.

Green Points
Chiron narrows the gap, but it is still nearly 100 points. In the lower part of the top ten, Otoxiep overtakes SemirS, but Bminchow overtakes both of those and 2 others.

1 Tobydawq 372.38
2 Chiron 275.95
3 Joelsim 224.49
4 JustSomeGuy 175.13
5 Madrazo 168.42
6 Bminchow 164.5
7 Otoxiep87 153.63
8 SemirS 148.42
9 Laarsland 142
10 LightBing 120.04

Standings
Normally, is the team in secoond is top scorer, and the leader is way down the field, we would dwell on a narrowing of the gap. This year is not normal. Rather underwhelmingly, the highest placed riser, and joint biggest (2 place) jump of the day with BitB immediately behind him, is Otoxiep87 all the way down in 15th.

Laarsland overtakes 2 teams, but is in turn overtaken by Leadbelly as he enters the top ten.

Standings

The lead gets bigger still, while the strength of Chiron's hold of second place is shown by still having a decent margin after being last on the day. It is Madrazo's turn to sit in third (up 2 places) and Pirate81 has had a 3 place rise to 4th. Leadbelly is the only new member of the top 10, and has the biggest jump of the day by some distance (13 places, 2nd best was 5)

Off to the Netherlands on Sunday. Dropboxy McDropboxface

Even with 4 races to go, that score of Tobydawq's puts previous winners in the shade, and although Chiron might feel that his second place is distant, it already bears comparison with previous winners. There has been some score inflation as more races have been upgraded to WT status, but these are impressive scores.
