    De-indexing LH Campag Lever?

I have Mirage 10-speed ergo levers, and I find the indexing on the left one quite annoying and unhelpful. I like to be able to trim my front mech in case of chain rub noise, but the crude indexing has other ideas and will usually send me onto another chainring instead. Is there a safe and...

Interesting BBC radio piece on power outputs

It's the first item in the programme: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01kt7d3/More_or_Less_The_Tour_de_France_and_the_statistics_of_cheating/

    Chains falling off - solution?

It seems never a race goes by without some poor guy's chain coming off. It strikes me as not a very professional image to project - I mean, the kid down the street has his chain fall off, but on a £10,000 bike ridden by a £250,000 a year rider in top-flight professional races? Also it interferes...

    Bring back the Bordeaux-Paris!

Pair up cyclists with well-known rally, touring car, F1, etc., drivers, put big windshields on the back of the cars and make it a fast, exciting, different spectacle that would create interest, media coverage & controversy. End the season with a bang!

2011 Copenhagen World Championships: Elite Men Road Race

I propose a dress code for the pit lane staff. (I'm going for Oscar Friere, £10 @ 21/1 and £10 for a place, just to be sure :) )

Copenhagen World Championships: Elite Women Road Race, 140km

Well done Bronzini today. While watching her being interviewed, I couldn't help thinking that she didn't appear very, well, womanly. Wonder if she's ever had to take a gender test?

Signing on - only in cycling?

I can't say I've noticed the sign-on procedure in any other sport, maybe it goes on behind the scenes but anyone know? Or is it unique to cycling?

    Vuelta a España Stage 15: Avilés - Anglirú 144km

Cobo is using 36 x 32 today

    Make the Vuelta more spectator-friendly?

I agree moving to earlier in the season would make sense, but as pointed out there's the problem of overlap with other events in the crowded calendar. And yes the later finishes don't have to apply to all stages, although there is so much going on behind the scenes the "roadies" etc need time...

    Make the Vuelta more spectator-friendly?

Sunset is 9pm now, so that's why I was suggesting 8 or 8.30pm finishes, but maybe 7.30 would be ok too. Starting at 3 or 3.30 would mean getting the hottest part of the day out the way early in the race.

    Make the Vuelta more spectator-friendly?

I've lived in southern Spain for almost 8 years. Watching the Vuelta on TV, it seems a shame to see so few spectators, but it's to do with the stage timings. The streets of most Spanish towns and villages are virtually deserted between 2.30 and 5.30pm in the summer. Lunch (from 2 to 3pm...

    At the Vuelta?

I won't be in the area but good luck. Bear in mind that the road surface on the final kilometres after the barrier deteriorates quickly and becomes barely ridable on a road bike. Maybe they have fixed it since I rode up a few years ago, but since it is closed to normal traffic I doubt it.

    Vuelta a Burgos 2.HC 03/08 - 07/08

Great venue. And the dark-haired podium girl is a real cutie, but shouldn't they use ones that are shorter than the riders?

    Vuelta a Burgos 2.HC 03/08 - 07/08

11.6km in 9'54" is 70.3kph/43.7mph, wonder where the 66.6kph came from on this report? http://www.cyclingnews.com/races/vuelta-a-burgos-2-hc/stage-3/results Just watched it on Spanish telly - that was F-F-F-FAST!

The rider's tribute ride to a colleague and friend: Giro d'Italia Stage 4

What a very touching and memorable tribute to Wouter today. His untimely and shocking death was tragic and it has affected me more than I expected, however there is a positive aspect to consider. If your "number is up" and you are destined to be plucked from the land of the living, much...
