    UCI screws Astana

No, it's common sense. There is absolutely no way imaginable that there are over 2 billion TV sets in the world who's owners find cycling interesting enough to sit down and watch 20 consecutive minutes of it. No more than a tenth of that number could care about professional cycling (and that is...

    Pantani 99 vs Armstrong 99

Has it been confirmed that Lance had exclusive consulting privileges with Ferrari?

    Pantani 99 vs Armstrong 99

Lance had Motoman, who gave him a formidable advantage. I'm not convinced anybody could have beaten him in 1999.

    Most believable Tour in years?

Nibali is simply the best of the rest, taking out the elite three of Froome, Contador and Quintana. If any of those three were in the race his lead would be far smaller and he wouldn't look quite as 'in control' etc. I don't know about who's clean and who isn't but it's been apparent for some...

    Doping in Soccer/Football

A few years ago Robben was ridiculously injury prone and usually wore himself out well before the 90th minute.

I can't believe the Schleck quote. Hamilton's biography quite clearly outlines that there had been an obsession with food as early as the 90s.

    World Politics

I'm loving the new Australian budget. It's been made substantially more difficult for people under the age of 30 to get welfare payments. That'll be a right laugh for me, I live in an area where the majority of young people are unemployed and need the dole to get by. What are they going to do...

    Doping in Soccer/Football

I know judging by jawlines is hardly a scientific method of 'catching' dopers, but Ballack's got one to rival Eddy Merckx here.

Richie Porte - what do we know about him?

He can't use the 'unique disease' angle though, there's nothing of the sort over here.

Team Ineos (Formerly the Sky thread)

Voeckler only did so well in 2011 because the contenders soft-pedaled through all three stages in the Pyrenees (and even then he lost a little time). When there were serious attacks in the final two Alpine stages, he blew up. Any decent climber (by which I mean somebody who doesn't go out the...

    Doping in other sports?

You're missing the point - I wasn't discussing whether Jamaica is capable of sponsoring a team wide doping programme (quite obviously, any individual or organisation with a few hundred thousand dollars to spare can easily do so). I was saying that such a programme either doesn't exist (i.e...

Will Contador Be Juiced Up Again Upon His Return

They will say that it's proof of Froome's cleanliness, and also will argue that getting beaten by Froome is Contador's 'natural' level. If I get a dollar for every time I see something along the lines of "Not so good without his steaks, is he?" come July (assuming Froome beats him), I needn't...

    Doping in other sports?

I guess I didn't consider that, good post Hitch. It seems like a roundabout way to improve things in your country though, although there is a definite correlation between doing well at sport and a happy population (didn't a similar effect take place in the UK after the successful 2012 Olympics?).

    New marathon domination, Kenya.

I don't buy the financial argument. Ethiopia can't be any wealthier than Kenya.
