I think vingo is strongest. remco should let him go and see if he can follow pog. neither vingo nor pog will let each other go, so remco should never be the one closing holes. that is, if he is not summarily dropped by both of them.

also, him downplaying it has to be taken with a modicum of salt. at this point no rider would let his rivals know that he has been weakened. here's hoping.

hmm, there was an article on cyclinguptodate that had him with 24 ITT victories out of 48 participations. not sure if they are counting Junior ITTs in that.

everyone needs to chill a bit, me thinks. remco would always be favored to gain time on pog on the flat parts. and then there was a headwind specifically on those flat sections today. that only accentuates the advantage remco gains through his superior cda. it would be great to know official...

headwind. cda. big advantage today for remco.

fair. but today there was headwind on the flat (and tailwind on the climb). both of these things advantage remco because of his cda compared particularly to pog.

can someone please tell me what the point of a 21-22 minute TT is? it's like having a 21-22 minute bonus sprint. it will most likely have zero effect on final GC. wtf happened to the "race of truth"?

really? just now? Or are you thinking of the interview when he was referring to the MTT in the TDF? There the question is whether the TT bike is beneficial enough just for the first 3 kms of flat.

one minute only between all riders. stupid giro with 3 minutes between each of the top 20. I get it, but one of the fun things in ITT watching is seeing if any riders get caught.

I doubt anyone will be switching bikes for a 1.8 km climb.

then indeed we are in total agreement. if you read on I said that in a traditional TDF with 100 kms flat ITT, Remco might gain at most 3-4 minutes (exactly what you are saying). And then I said, pog would still not have too much issue getting that back and more in the MTFs. Please read the...

he put 3 minutes (or thereabouts) into pog in Cardiff (my bad!) Glasgow in 48 kms (and pog medaled in the road race, so in shape). however, I agree, even if he got 3-4 minutes from longer flat TTs, pog would make this up fairly easily in the MTFs. However, it would make it more fun/interesting...

clearly VDP could work for remco -- he tried to lead him out perfectly today, but there's little he can do if remco never comes by. jk.
