Kern Pharma going nuclear with no shame, nice. Excellent name.

Vuelta a España Vuelta a España 2024, stage 12: Ourense - Estación de Montaña de Manzaneda, 137.4k

That last 500m was torture to watch. Everytime he looked back (which was about 15 times) he lost another second due to riding style. Congrats for the win!

Sinner missing the olympics seemed sketchy to me. I'm aware that he's supposed to have had a whole lot of injuries and rehab. But also, he's been ranked #1 for a while so it seemed like quite a coincidence to happen to miss such major event.

Are We in the We Don't Know Era?

Right, thanks. Looking at those GT dates from Merckx era and Indurain era, they are too close to each other for any meaningful hypothesis of winning all three, especially with Tour being third.

Are We in the We Don't Know Era?

I feel like the game has changed fundamentally. In the long history of a doped- up sport, there's still been some boundaries. There are reasons why nobody has won all the grand tours in the same calendar year. But based on everything we've seen this year, if Pog wants to win Vuelta then he will...

    Tadej Pogacar and Mauro Giannetti

Pog had a hard stage. You could feel how tough it was to ride as slowly as he "had to" in order to not make more enemies. Most of his energy was spent having to control the slow pace and avoid accelerating. Must have been nice to have 10 seconds of actual riding at the end.

Tour de France Tour de France 2024: Stage 19: Embrun - Isola 2000, 19/07 144.6k

Yes, the 90s are back! Oh wait, you meant 90 seconds

    State of the Peloton 2024

If this actually works then it's a huge thing in the Paris olympics and there's no way to keep it in some constrained circles of "richest cycling teams" and it's going to be very well known across the field. But I don't know, it all sounds maybe a bit too "easy" to explain this TdF. The entire...

    State of the Peloton 2024

This isn't about Almeida or some other specific circumstance, it's just facts about past 35 years of cycling. You can dismiss Almeida and take the difference between #1 and #5 for all I care, point still stands. The gaps are huge between top3 and the rest. Look at something like this to see an...

    State of the Peloton 2024

The gap between #1 and #4 is now at 12min 57secs. After this weeks mutant championships are over, that's going to be at 18+ minutes, possibly over 20 mins. I went through wikipedia for all tours from 1990 onwards and this actually never happened at this scale in the "modern times" or since EPO...

Tour de France Tour de France 2024 stage 17: Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux - Superdévoluy, 177.8 km

Carapaz joins a list of cyclists with stage win at all grand tours and olympic gold medal. Mind you, I don't know how long that list is...

    Tadej Pogacar and Mauro Giannetti

Two options for week 3 friday-sunday, after rest day and some warm-up stages: 1) Pog in full control with some stage wins if he's too bored 2) it's going to get NUCLEAR if Visma & Quick-step have not given up :D

    Tadej Pogacar and Mauro Giannetti

I just can't wrap my mind around the concept where two-time Tour winner Pog has full access to juice that's better than no-limits EPO yet he still went without winning any GTs for almost three calendar years (tour 2021 to Giro 2024). How? Sure, Vingo beat him twice in the Alien vs Predator duel...

At this point there's no turning back and we need to see this circus all the way through with Pog winning la Vuelta
