It should be the exact opposite; the Tour has an unhealthy hold on the sport, and that needs to change.....and until it does, the sport will remain as it is.

MvdP's speciality is actually CX - and would likely lap Pog..............

Having a better physiology isn't a talent.......Pogacar is probably the best athlete in pro cycling - but he's not the best cyclist......Pidcock & MvdP are well ahead of him technically - and therefore, better cyclists. Freeriders, Downhillers are probably the best pure cyclists.......just not...

If they had the same rules as XC MTB, then he couldn't have changed bikes.......and either DNF, or carried on with a damaged bike. I actually think this is the way to go, no spare bikes at all. It's all part of bike racing, looking after your equipment.

Well, they've been given the 'training camp' weekend.........You know what will happen..........and Glasgow is too far from Belgium.....

Do other sporting governing bodies do similar? I'm not sure its for them to do.....The European Union took a dim view of the FiA trying to run their own championships. Another reason for the WT to have a proper Promoter, who set up something similar.

They're all extremely good athletes - but not all are good cyclists........There are many who need skills training.....
