Well... if you look todays race, they were not the only ones with bad luck. Impact of Covid in WVA cannot really be estimated.

PR is experienced RR rider race. Par Degenkolb no-one under 28 year old has won it for ages. Most winners in past 12 years have been +30. Van Baarle is 30 in a month. WVA and MVDP need couple more PR's for practice before winning. But I think they will eventually.

So after 2 races... Borodavko crew flying (except Chervotkin), rest of Russians more or less lost. Finns suprisingly strong on the races they did not expect much. Norway in troubles (except Johaug). Swedes not great (except Poromaa). We ought to have interesting games in our hands, especially...

Indeed, at lease in all FIS services they talk about 3.3km and 3.75km loops. These are the "red" loops which are easier than the "blue" loops, mainly Burgstall is not climbed at full either in ladies nor men race.

Spitsov benefitted a lot by starting 30 seconds before Niskanen and stayed with him good 5-7km. But staying that long with Iivo was in itself impressive.
