I don't even understand the whole discussion. For Majka as an ok descender it wouldn't make a lot of sense to attack in a stage like today. For what? Testing the opponents could be one reason, but it's kind of waisting energy.... If he stays riding like this even in MTF I said nothing, but up...

Re: Exactly what I thought. The GC battle will be very interesting to follow. And Majka is 100% in it. I don't see Nibali and Valverde with the really best in the very difficult stages...

No Vuelta for him!

Its gonna be really interesting to see what AG2R does now. He is not selected for the Vuelta for sure and wasn't allowed to ride Tour de l'Ain because of his bad shape. To me this sounds like no Vuelta for him, but we will see what's the final selection.

Thank you for your detailed answer. In some case you have to think what would be the best for a rider. Maybe for Veloso it's easier to be a star once a year than work for someone else as a domestique.

Does anybody know why he wouldn't start tomorrow? There was rumour he was sick and he posted some pictures from Europe? To me this all makes no sense at all. :D

What if Veloso would ride for a bigger Team next year? I dont know bis plans, but he could be a good domestique? Maybe there wouldnt be enough time to ride Portugal. .. But it is only suggesting, I have no facts.

Re: Re: 100% agree. If he starts again like he did in March, then the season will be over and he will finish around 150th around again at the Vuelta. He has to be in decent shape... Even if it is just for practice-racing. I would call out a top 50 GC in Poland as an indicator for an ok shape...

After a bad start into the giro and loosing 13 minutes on the road to La Spezia Betancur is going to finish the Giro 20th in the GC. Additionally stages one time 2nd place and three more top ten finishes. Compared to his weak start into the season, where he just tried to follow the peloton...

Another Top Ten from him today, finishing 8th. It will be really interesting to see what he can do in the last week.
